Thomas W (nl) wrote: Even with a surprisingly strong performance from Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City, Mannequin, The Ghost Writer) it isn't worth meeting Monica Velour. The film is too cliched to be any good and with a Napoleon Dynamite-ish protaganist parts of it are downright bad. It is a coming of age tale about the ND-clone who graduates from high school a virgin (oh the horror!) and is gifted a Weiner foodtruck by his grandfather upon graduation. To give the character a bit of originality, he adores vintage porn with one actress from the early 80's in particular -- Monica Velour. When he decides to sell his Weiner truck AND find out that Ms. Velour is performing a special engagement near the buyer's location, he roadtrips to Indiana to meet the woman of his dreams. What he discovers is that Ms. Velour is rather washed-up and jaded ... although she does initially fancy the young man's flirtations. The film goes exactly where you'd expect it to go ... nothing more, nothing less ... except for a most-unfornuate turn by film-vet Brian Dennehy. :( ... yes, a sad face.

Tanner B (au) wrote: -IGNORE THIS "OUT OF FIVE" RATING2.5/4Taut thriller adapted from William Goldman's novel about a graduate history student who unwittingly gets caught up in the middle of an international conspiracy involving an exiled Nazi war criminal. Brilliant performances from Hoffman and Oliver, with some iconic scenes and bravura moments...but there are far too many obvious story holes, which bog the whole film down. Great scene with people recognizing Oliver in the street and ends in someones throat getting slit.

David B (us) wrote: Fleischer made a couple of serial killer movies in the late 60's early 70's. The first was The Boston Strangler and the second was 10 Rillington Place a chilling, grimy tale of Christie a perverted woman killer who tricks everyone including his wife in letting him continue his reign/orgy of killing. London is dull and charmless and the unrelenting grimness of the story and the underplaying of the actors add to the effectiveness of this brilliant film. Attenborough is truly chilling as the calmly scheming psychopath and conveys a seething disturbed man beneath the calm.

Andres R (jp) wrote: Without its two sequels, plot points are left unresolved, leaving it as a lacking standalone film. However, for what it contains, it is still an excellent samurai film.

Jens L (it) wrote: Don't ask why but this movie is still on the top of my favorite Tarantino movies...is it the fantastic score or this gorgeous Dodge Challenger? Dunno...still far ahead of his latest works for me.

Ada D (br) wrote: Captain Harlock recreates the 70s anime and manga that we all fell in love with. With a complexed story and dynamic characters that falls short in this movie. The story starts off wonderful with thrilling sequences but an hour in loses momentum and becomes flat.
