David M (us) wrote: 2.75 stars. I liked it. Rambles a bit, but the underlying concept isn't bad, there are some minor chills, and the performances are good. Unusual and nicely done.

Trevor W (gb) wrote: Simon, the manager of the magnificent Little Theatre in Bath spake thus: "Morris is daft, very English and very, very endearing." Couldn't agree more. If you haven't seen it yet, be prepared to be endeared. PS keep an eye on the end credits and ear on the sound track - the gentle humour still flows.

Randy P (jp) wrote: Not a bad movie, but it's certainly not even close to being a masterpiece, even in the comedy genre. Though having some funny lines and performances from the kids, this movie is nothing more then a movie you happen to catch on television every now and then.

Elgan D (es) wrote: Not the immediate actors to come to mind in the western genre but both Neeson and Brosnan are good in a problematic film. The picture which begins as a seemingly straightforward cowboy story alters into one of symbolism towards the final act but this change is far too jarringly introduced.

Marcus W (us) wrote: It's produced by Besson and stars Cruz and Hayek as cowgirls. That sentence should tell you all you need to know, but it's still a lot of harmless fun.

Daniel J (us) wrote: Que pelcula tan dramtica. Nunca me a gustado ni Frida ni Diego, pero la pelcula no est tan mala.

John C (it) wrote: A moving, challenging Belgian immigrant drama. This was my intro to the Dardenne Brothers and I'm ashamed it's taken this long. If you're a fan of verite film like "The Visitor", "Sugar", or the films of Ramin Bahrani, you owe it to yourself to check this one out. You will be shocked how much the new American indies owe to the Dardennes.

Steven V (us) wrote: This movie have nothing to do with Drew Barrymore's character. This movie is one massive hemeriod, of trying-to-be deep, coming of age and loss of innocene.

Bobby G (nl) wrote: One of my favorite movies growing up, this is the one that caused me to go after women and want to rob banks. Excellent father/son criminal movie.

Mark D (jp) wrote: I haven't seen this in around 10 years. It is so so so much better than I remember. Seeing as the only scene I remembered was where he was behind the perfume counter.I love this movie. It's one of those films that you feel as if you've seen several times but it's still good no matter what.Robin Williams does an amazing job. I would say it's one of my favorite performances by him. It's that brand of humor he can pull off where it's not overtly funny but still makes you laugh. He also gets really really into the role.Such a great film.

Cassandra M (ru) wrote: An interesting and quite psychologically accurate telling of how Norman Bates became the world's most famous momma's boy. Henry Thomas was a good choice for young Norman. Olivia Hussey (from Black Christmas, 1974) is very good as Mama Bates. Her reactions to Norman created an atmosphere for his schizophrenia to fester: the scene where she tickles him at his father's funeral is a good example. When he quite rightly giggles, she slaps him, even though she provoked it. Young Norman grew up not knowing how to react to situations. Plus the great love and fear for his mother laid the groundwork for his psychosis. It is really pretty good.
