(ag) wrote: Misleading perspective. Centered around a few dead people (Workers and so on...) this movie distracts from the pollutional point of this catastrophe, and is therefore nothing else then ideological and heroical Hollywood stuff. Better miss the movie! Here it can be seen how the centering on human perspective varnish the bigger issue in shifting the perspective (of course which some few rights on his own...)

The existence of aliens, unlimited energy for all, and a natural pattern that appears in many cultures around the world are all but a few of the things explored in this very interesting documentary.

(gb) wrote: Not without moments of amateurishness, TOO LATE nevertheless overcomes its test of an audience's patience with a freshness of originality to the noir genre not seen since PULP FICTION. I have never seen a detective film quite like this before, taking unpredictable narrative turns with a committed formal conceit that by the end is nothing short of breathtaking. It's not even April and I've already seen the first movie of the year that quite likely will make my top ten.

(us) wrote: Nicely made, but the plot is quite confusing. But you can see clearly that some of it was shot in Helsinki!
(au) wrote: Dated comedy that's ripe for a remake. Two city morgue attendants working the night shift turn their workplace into a brothel. Has some laughs, but is too tame and clichd by today's standards. Look for Kevin Costner and Shannen Doherty in small roles.
(ca) wrote: An impressively bewigged Franco Nero plays Keoma, a "half-breed" out to find himself but who also finds the time to "sort out" his three wayward half-brothers and the psychopath they work for. There are plenty of good things about this film: great camerawork with some unusual perspectives, audacious panning and tracking and some charmingly wonky hand-held sequences; locations which are very different from those of your standard spag western; and interesting narrative techniques, particularly the flashbacks that are acted out in the present in front of Keoma's eyes. Old western hands Woody Strode and William Berger bring dignity to the proceedings. Unfortunately the whole shebang is derailed by the endless repetition of possibly the worst theme tune I've ever heard. It really is the most dreadful bobbins and in addition to a caterwauling woman who doesn't hit one note when she can warble 25, I do believe Franco Nero himself joins in with his sub-Leonard Cohen croak. The plot is also so wafer-thin that if you hold it up to the light you can see through it. I really wanted this to be the last great spaghetti western but in truth the genre had had it's day by 1976 and although it's a valiant attempt, Castellari fails to breathe new life into it.
(us) wrote: Probably the most beautifully filmed Stanley Kubrick movie. This period piece during the Crimean War, tells Thackeray's novel of the same name.Ryan O'Neil stars in the prime of his career and shows him at the top of his craft. Each shot was meant to be as perfect as a portrait. The perfectionism of the costumes, cinematography, screenplay and acting are superb. The scene of Barry Lyndon at his young son's bedside is one of the saddest scenes that I have ever witnessed. The tragic rags to riches to rags story portrays the life of an Irish rogue in British high society.Certainly not Kubrick's finest, but even this achievement stands head and shoulders over most other period films.
(jp) wrote: Goofy looking monster that appears to have a glowing banana for a nose, and a really silly looking Frankenstein. Also, it's a bit slow at times. Other than that, pretty rad movie.
