The Gods must be Crazy II

The Gods must be Crazy II

Xixo is back again. This time, his children accidentally stow away on a fast-moving poachers' truck, unable to get off, and Xixo sets out to rescue them. Along the way, he encounters a couple of soldiers trying to capture each other and a pilot and passenger of a small plane, who are each having a few problems of their own.

The movie tells 4 different stories: Xixo trying to find his lost children, two elephant poachers travelling in a truck on which Xixo's children are stuck, a zoologist and a lawyer stranded in a desert and two soldiers fighting each other. Still a garden of small delights. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Steve J (ru) wrote: A shaky third act featuring some howlingly cheesy dialogue slightly hampers an otherwise solid thinking adult's horror film. Of course, the strong performances by Barbara Hershey and the late Ron Silver help tremendously. Hershey plays a single mom who suddenly begins to experience brutal sexual attacks at the hands of an invisible presence. It could be a figment of her imagination, or it could be a field of hostile energy, or it could be a demon. Based on true events (so they say), this is one of the better horror films of the 1980s, a decade that wasn't terribly kind to the genre. Feminists protested it on release, but they may have missed the boat there, since the film definitely doesn't eroticize rape, and none of the men in the film come off particularly well. Worth a look if you can handle the admittedly unpleasant subject matter.

Gemma F (nl) wrote: To many people, the constantly-shifting, desaturated video-to-film visuals and discontinuity tricks (plus the perennially annoying musical score) are drawbacks--not me! I also love how dislikable all the characters are, how self-enchanted and self-deluded. I guess it feeds into my basic image of office work as a self-inflicted version of Hell. Much like a two-hour chunk of Seinfeld, only far less New York/Jewish/prone to provoke screen-punching.

Sora Z (br) wrote: dark and serious, this movie took animation seriously, which I really love ;) great plot, characters, and the story itself.. could have gone longer, though. I think Saya was really cool, very mysterious :p

Reagan C (es) wrote: Probably the best Star Trek movie, in my opinion. This installment really showed the characters' personalities and relationships, focusing less on mayhem and more on them. I loved that (especially since my favorite character, Pavel Chekov, got a good amount of screen time).A good follow-up of "The Search for Spock", showing him turning back to his old self. A heartwarming film, and has a good deal of comical moments (sending a 23rd century starfleet crew back to the '80s is bound to get laughs!)
