Having been criticized for being unrealistic and ridiculous, but have the films of Jeunet ever made any sense at all? With an interesting and clear subject of vengeance, comedic developments and just punishments at the end, Micmacs stands itself out from other films of Jeunet.
Jess L (br) wrote: Very true to Gus Van Sant's unmistakable style this slow moving, involving film about a young skater's involvement with the death of a security guard does at times take your breath away. The shower scene in particular was beautiful to watch and says so much through such little action. Also the way he films the skaters is quite impressive and mesmerising. By no means perfect, and those with short attention spans need not bother, but if you appreciate bare bones cinema you should find something in Paranoid Park to appreciate.
Ben R (kr) wrote: I don't know where to start with this godawful piece of CW inspired bullshit. This was a piss poor Hills Have Eyes,Wrong Turn wannabe. The acting and deaths are so laughable in this it has to be seen to be believed. I'm glad I only paid 3 bucks for this brand new. I should have known anything with Hillary Duffs untalented shitty sister would be an abortion of a movie. Watch at your own risk or watch if you're with a group of friends and want something to laugh at while drunk. Also don't forget to look for the Token black guy in this who is so horrible as an actor you would have sworn this was one of those scary movie type parody movies.

Jordan L (es) wrote: To begin, this film came out in 1997. This film by Jem Cohen contains footage of DC band Fugazi from their start in 1987 to their 10 year anniversary show. It contains unseen footage spanning the bands entire career. A must see for any alternative rock fan of any age. This film shows why so many other bands were influenced by Fugazi and how the band has shaped the world of rock.
Doctor S (mx) wrote: Absorbing psychological tug-of-war ensues for the attentions of fragile, reclusive photographer Lucy (Ally Sheedy) between her current girlfriend, junkie German former actress Greta (Patricia Clarkson) and her newly introduced downstairs neighbor, assistant magazine layout editor Syd (Radha Mitchell) who can get her vocation back on the fast track. The title has a double meaning as Lucy is torn, she can choose to remain in her current situation of privacy locked in a world of drug-fueled parties and a debilitatingly dependent Greta, or gain the strength to get clean and join Syd which also means facing the pressures that drove her away from the photography business in the first place. This trio of actresses is equally excellent in showing each character's vulnerabilities and makes the film worth watching, even if it seems to end with a chapter missing.
Zhanyi J (it) wrote: The message may be profound here, but I need a little more story to watch a movie. I admire Godard's non-narrative technique, but sometimes it's painful to watch.
Turtleboy G (fr) wrote: Another really good Adam Sandler comedy. I thought it was really good very surprisingly. I thought it would be bad, but I was satisfied.
Bernie M (es) wrote: Fairly good crime movie. I enjoyed watching it, but it wasn't spectacular. Pretty familiar feel of past movies throughout, but still good. The scene with the bad drug deal and the climax were both very enjoyable to me.
Carlos M (us) wrote: Even if Julia Roberts is adorable and the stunning scenery will probably make you want to go backpacking around the world, this weak movie feels a bit bloated and too long for a romantic drama, and it doesn't have what it takes to keep our interest for all that running time.
