Unfortunately this movie hardly does her acting skills any justice. BUT the movie is certainly well made. Very rarely you see a social comedy with humour and tension so well interleaved.

Al M (au) wrote: This Jaws ripoff plays more like a bad episode of Flipper. The octopus attack scenes are boring and stupid, the underwater shots are terrible looking, and the entire film comes off more like an unfunny farce than an actual horror film. John Huston, Henry Fonda, and Shelly Winters are completely wasted in a script that at best never gives them anything interesting to do and at worst makes them look like buffoons forced to act in an elementary- school-level production.

Christopher B (au) wrote: For the time this was great cinematography and script. Strong acting by the supporting cast - especially Walters. Eastwood's character shows emotion through his actions - and hesitations - while reacting to the human condition within. Overall, nearly Hitchcockian.

Paul D (us) wrote: The actual production is very familiar looking for a Hollywood western, but James Cagney's tough ranch man character, with conviction and beliefs about life and work does add something new to the genre and makes this one worthwhile. Robert Wise's direction is as steady as ever and there's the obligatory romance issues that need sorting although this seems to take a back-foot to the action despite being integral to the plot.
