Dita P (it) wrote: This movie is so bad! Within first three minutes I knew this film will be complete waste of time. The only thing that made me keep watching it was that everything in this film was so bad! It doesn't happen very often that all aspects of filmmaking fail. Overexposed shots, questionable editing (close up of a gun and cut to main character saying: 'You should be wearing a gun), terrible acting from actors that normally perform alright. You might get better acting experience from spending two hours watching showreels of wannabe actors on Youtube. You'll probably end up hating Gisele Fraga by the end of this film. Her performance should be given as example of bad acting in every acting school. But the worst of all, directing. Which is probably the main reasons why this film is so bad. Rich Cowan should be banned from film industry for life. Unless you want to spend hour and half watching exceptionally badly done film, pick something else.

Allan C (it) wrote: Interesting if unspectacular little thriller about Alessandro Nivola and girlfriend Reese Witherspoon running a con on Josh Brolin in order to pay off loanshark Terrance Howard. The con is that Witherspoon poses as an underage girl to convince Brolin he's committed statutory rape in order to extort money from him. The film opens with the con and Brolin then tying up Witherspoon in his home and calling his friend Nivola for help, unknowing that Nivola and Witherspoon are in cahoots. It's a noirish story that had potential, but the middle of the film is painfully dull and slow, which flashes back to Nivola and Witherspoon's money woes and them hatching their scheme. Once the second act catches up to the opening, it comes back to life, but the the denouement rather fizzles instead of building to a wild climax, which it could easily have done. I'd love to have seen an climax like "8 Million Ways to Die" or "True Romance" which could have rescued this film. Still, the three leads are all strong actors and compelling screen presences, particularly Witherspoon, and they do manage to make the film watchable. Don't go out of your way to watch this film, but it's not horrible and is somewhat interesting to see Witherspoon and Brolin before they broke out as major stars.
Ravi A (mx) wrote: A potentially funny movie ruined by bad jokes, and an acting performance from Hugh Grant that can be outdone by children in a local school nativity play. The crescendo of the movie is easily beaten by a similar [and somewhat ripped-off] scene in the Bollywood flick "Salaam Namaste".
Brian S (br) wrote: I don't think I've ever seen a sci-fi movie quite like this one, it's got it's very own style, but it works well. It feels long, not much really happens for the first hour, but, for it's time, it's an impressive movie, with great special effects and an epic performance by the great Harrison Ford. A classic science-fiction movie. Recommended !!
