Shawn S (us) wrote: Boring and drawn out. Not a single likable character, everyone was annoying.

Sarah K (gb) wrote: I just want to watch it right now because Dominik is so alluring. Even when he does not say anything I can feel his pain. Sounds like an interesting and awesome movie even though I don't usually watch that many foreign films.

Nick P (au) wrote: Surprisingly, this is one political documentary I found extremely interesting. Most of all, how different Mitt Romney behaves both on and off camera. I'm shocked this human, passionate and funny side of him was never shown during the election.

Anna I (au) wrote: I have said this a million times, but I'll say it again...I love Juno Temple. However, this was maybe my least favorite of her movies. This movie had some really great plot ideas and scenes, but the whole thing didn't come together right. I thought the story of Kate Bosworth as the aunt who feels trapped by needing to take 24/7 care of her severely disabled vet husband could have been its own even better movie. That story was by far more intense and interesting than the actual "main" story.I get it...teenagers who are BFF (but more like sisters) from a rural/low income town feel the need to escape to the city. What I didn't really get was the motive behind what they were doing or thought they would do, other than to chase boys. I guess just looking for adventure?A huge part of why I disliked this movie was the lack luster and dullness of Allison (the BFF). I am totally ok with an unknown, unglamorous actress, but she brought nothing to the movie.I guess I just spent the whole movie thinking "what do they expect is going to happen?"

Chris G (ca) wrote: Terrible script drags this into beautiful Pacific Ocean. Poor lines and acting from some well-known actors make one squirm in the seat. Great setting in Carmel and some beautiful looking scenes do not make up for a very poor film from what appears as a promising tale. Awkward and awful.

Pan L (fr) wrote: Decent movie almost full-length, however I was disappointed (if not cheated) by it's climax. It would have been worse only if explained by main hero's bad dream. And such a waste of (good) actors.

Ryan S (mx) wrote: very uncomfortable. the netflix sleeve says "dark comic", i don't get that at all. it was just disturbing.the little girl did a wonderful job.

Larry Y (br) wrote: I was tricked into watching this because Chris Jericho was in it... for five minutes. Don't bother.

Logan M (kr) wrote: Gus Van Sant's raw teen drama can be justifiably defined as 'all too real' and is that kind of movie that can characterized as good, but too upsetting to want to watch twice.

Paola D (us) wrote: ahhhh somebody help me! i've loved the book by ann tyler, and i'm desperately looking for the movie. in italy it doesn't exist (they didn't even translate the book :( ) but in uk the told me as well they never heard of it (and GP is english, isn't he?). they sell it on ebay but from usa, and i need region2! WHERE CAN I FIND THIS MOVIE? tks

Christian M (ru) wrote: Good cast and the characters find themselves in a funny situation at the end but the movie itself is lackluster and not funny except maybe a chuckle or two at most.

Ollie W (ag) wrote: Almodovar's fourth feature is eclipsed by Carmen Maura's incredible lead performance as the desperately unfortunate mother, housewife and daughter-in-law who lives in less than satisfactory conditions. Visually its an exceptional example of Almodovar's relentless homaging to Warhol and Waters - especially the beautifully realized apartment and it's many confusingly patterned interiors. Narratively it shows an uncannily realistic streak. Channeling the type of lower-class futility that Britain's Mike Leigh so admires, Almodovar's strongly feminist tale of misfortune and revenge is told with such an air of sophistication and intelligence, it's hard to imagine this was the same Almodovar who scripted such wild, bawdy, sprawling efforts like "Pepi, Luci Bom" and "Labyrinth of Passion."

Simon M (nl) wrote: Superb coming of age film. I'm not sure any film covers the period between graduation and adult responsibility as well as this. I can only think of American Graffiti and Dazed and Confused that come close. Great score too.

Scott W (br) wrote: Moving account of a child abandoned by his parents during the Japanese invasion of China and his subsequent survival in an internment camp until 1945. Christian Bale is excellent as Jim and is well supported by the likes of John Malkovich, Miranda Richardson, Nigel Havers and Leslie Phillips.

Vincent W (gb) wrote: Just when I was beginning to think that sci-fi from the 90s would forever bore me, this film comes alone. It's actually quite enjoyable! Naturally, it feels a bit old and clunky but it is a very endearing movie. Some of the puppet work is kinda dopey because it is so old. The cast gives a good performance. The cinematography does its best and in the end it worked out alright. What shines most about this film is the soundtrack. David Arnold also did the music for Independence Day and the Sherlock TV series. He is da man. This film is the jumping off point for the Stargate SG-1 TV series. I hope that will continue to build on this film.Summary: Surprisingly decent! I kinda liked it.

Cooper H (au) wrote: Superman III is largely boring as the majority of the film finds Reeves as just Clark or a depressed Superman. Kidder is pushed to the side, and O'Toole is a decent replacement but lacks a great story - as do the villains.

Frederic G (nl) wrote: Nice comedy.if you have Boston nostalgia, half of the movie is in Back Bay.
