The Human Bullet

The Human Bullet

A soldier has been in the Japanese military for the entirety of WWII, and in that time, his dedication to the army has never faltered. However, as the war draws to a close, his commanding officers become increasingly desperate and push their men to ever more absurd extremes. The ridiculousness of the orders from above peak when the hero of the story is assigned to drive a one-man submarine straight into the hull of an enemy battleship.

Jorge R (gb) wrote: At times touching, this concert documentary proves too pretentious in the end. I love James Murphy and his playful, self-conscious attention to artifice in his music and work, but it was a bit unbearable how full of himself he often came across in the film. Still, the music is excellent and the live performance was gorgeously shot, so there's still plenty to admire.

Brien S (nl) wrote: Less of a horror story and more of a drama with zombie children, Wicked Little Things may not have fully delivered everything I hoped, but overall I found it enjoyable. It takes an interesting premise and begins to flesh it out, but loses it towards the end.

Ryan S (gb) wrote: 4/5. Creepy, entertaining, and surprisingly disturbing for a kids' movie.

Raji K (ru) wrote: After a few years past, the trilogy is set as Riggs and Murtaugh are back. This time they have a corrupt cop on their hands that is dealing high caliber weapons to local street gangs. To assist with the investigation, Rene Russo is introduced as the love interest and internal affairs officer. Lethal Weapon 3 is the least gritty film of the series as the writer of the first two films (Shane Black) departed. Although it has some decent scenes, it is easily quite forgettable and as with most trilogies, it is simply cashing in on the characters.

Rose B (kr) wrote: I just downloaded this film from itunes for my kids. It was filmed down the road in Eltham, a book originally written by Ronald Hugh Morrison, who I studied for my BA. It is classic new zealand, both the roads, the cars and the blokes, and the dodgy baddies and random guys in the pub are characters I remember from the small town near where I grew up. I dont think Ronald Hugh Morrison ever left NZ, and I believe he had what is euphemistically called a problem with drink, or just with small towns I cant recall, but this movie is very funny and deserves more than a blank poster. It has well established NZ actors - but even the magpies play out of their skins. Billy T as the Waco kid - had my nine year old ipad minecraft addicted twins rolling around off their beanbags...GO the taniwha!!

Greg S (jp) wrote: The unexplained 1900 Valentine's Day disappearance of four schoolgirls and a teacher affects the residents and neighbors of an all-girl college in Australia. This gauzy meditation on sexual repression and loss can have a hypnotic effect on those susceptible to its mysterious moods, while others find it an inconclusive bore. Both sides have an argument, but in general the good here outweighs the bland.
