The Idiot Returns

Frantisek, the main character is returning to his family. Until now he's been, "successfully" avoiding all relationships. He is an ingenuous and a pure person and thus, is regarded as an idiot. He becomes involved in various love and family conflicts. It is because he hasn't experienced much of the "real" life that he is able to perceive human relationships in their genuineness.

James H (kr) wrote: Collateral is a great thriller that keeps you guessing. Also it looks amazing, from the cinematography to the set pieces you can't take your eyes off it. Jamie Foxx is very good and Tom Cruise, from a drama perspective, gives one of the best performances of his career playing a cold and merciless killer. The villain doesn't really feel like a villain either because his motivations are crystal clear.

Daniel L (jp) wrote: This movie is touching, powerful, and yet so accessible. Each character is made so distinct, but the whole theme of the movie explores their common search for redemption. Add in a soundtrack by my favorite artist, and this is one of my new favorite films.

I've always come across great movies made about other people such as General Custer of "They Died With There Boots On", Wong Fei Hong played both by Jackie Chan and Jet Lee and Toshiro Mifune as Miyamoto Musashi all labelled as great films but never about the legendary American Native Geronimo. Actor veteran Burt Lancaster starring as "Geronimo" the last American Apace who defied English traditions or abide to American rules after the civil war. He's then convinced to grow corn in way to work together but of course their are obstacles such as racist cowboys. I had many opportunities to watch this but assumed their was going to be a bad ending since the movie was about Geronimo but was quite relieved that it wasn't. And I don't quite know what the fuss was all about since Caucasians play Native American characters all the time as well as Chinese characters. Lancaster is a great actor and the movie doesn't degrade nor dehumanize the character he portrays what more do viewers want for it's very respectable showing actual American Indians as well as fake looking ones. 3 out of 4 stars

Andrew R (jp) wrote: There's one thing that needs to be said about this movie, and you can sum it up in one word. That word is controversial. This is a portrayal of the American forces in South Korea and the effect they have on the local communities. Ki-duk Kim has created a very dark story that revolves around three people. A young girl who suffered an eye injury as a child, a half-black Korean guy who has grown up without a father and ostercised from the community and another young man who is in love with the hal-blind girl. Their stories interwene throughout the movie, and we see the predudices of both Koreans and Americans. Dealing with the issues of Race, the U.S military and justice, it can be very uncomfortable at times. It is however, a gem in anyone's in movie collection. The acting is good for the most part, and the direction by Ki-duk Kim is excellent. The story is compelling if also partially morbid, and as with most Korean films dealing with the war or the military, it doesn't have a happy ending. Definately a must-see, even if you only see it once. I will admit though, that there will be some people who won't be able to finish it.

Guido S (gb) wrote: Martin Lawrence is a worker at a local medieval themed golf course and ends up falling in the polluted water after a necklace and ends up in the medieval times. He mistakes their castle for his competitors and has to improvise to be able to stay. It has some moments, but they seem to lose steam about halfway through and the jokes don't come fast enough. It also wears the idea pretty thin by that point since the story is ridiculous but there is nothing to keep it interesting.
