Oskar B (ru) wrote: I saw this film and within the first five minutes i already loved it. It is selfeaware to the point that you can't really fault the film for everything. Everything is a joke and parody of itself. Its a homage to 70s- B movies and works great as a comedy. It has many things and I can assure you find more and more things to appreciate to it. However it is not meant to be anything resembling an emotional picture but I still think that a really great film needs that. It also got a bit repetetive which I really can't blame it for either, but it was still there and I thought that could have been done in some other way. Really funny and something everyone can appreciate, because of the entertainment value or the little things and details put in it for it to be one of the funniest films in recent memory and a great parody film.
Andrey B (es) wrote: A typical Werner Herzog effort about man vs nature. I'm perplexed by the fact that this movie was completely overlooked by the Academy. Christian Bales' performance is mesmerizing, cinematography is awesome and the theme is inspiring.
Lewis E (kr) wrote: Only thing more revved up than the nascar engines is Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's annoying overactive performances. They persist with the foolishness hoping that one of their outbursts will actually end up being funny. This happens very rarely and certainly not justifying experiencing two hours of stupidity, homophobic gags and silly stereotypes trading lame insults. With a predictable storyline to boot, "Talladega Nights" turns out to be as mind-numbing as watching cars go round in circles.
Curtis M (de) wrote: A terrible film that start with an interesting concept and decent performances from the two female leads. The film incorporates soft-core pornography around the shell of a decent thriller that ultimately collapses upon itself as it embraces the excesses it so fondly rolls out at the beginning of the film in order to attract interest. The film maintains a faint glimmer of hope throughout, that it shall find a way to become interesting before the final, ridiculous, act in which the villain reveals himself to have all the credibility of a JRPG villain. The rather pleasing ending to the film is ultimately tainted by the tedious lack of class and intelligence
Geoff R (au) wrote: quite possibly the worst film of my childhood, the acting is so bad (bad acting is usually acceptable in a children's movie) the acting is just ridiculously terrible, the comedy is just flat out slap stick and unfunny. Most of the "comedy" is just Ted screaming which is not funny. I hated this movie as a kid and I hate it more now.
Joe C (de) wrote: The story as a whole is kind of boring, but the ending is good and touching.

Naoya K (kr) wrote: Sven Nykvist's breathtakingly beautiful (throughout the whole film) use of natural and artificial lights not only saves this film from being a lolita porn but even makes it a lovely art piece. And of course, brilliant job by Brooke Shields - she's just perfect for the role and obviously has big influence on Ruc Besson in developing Natalie Portman character in Leon the Professional. One of the not-too-many successful films made by European director in the US.
