Greg W (jp) wrote: With liberal doses of Psycho and Silence Of The Lamb borrowed, here are few surprises, and so its up to the cast to carry the load which they rise to in workmanlike fashion. The dog of the title is superfluous.

Chris K (es) wrote: I remember why I fled from the experimental/avante-garde scene...though not HORRIBLE, it's not horribly striking either. It has (as many experimental films do) a very amateur feel to it, but has its moments of interesting imagery.

Adam A (it) wrote: 2012 was first to me the best of the best in art of an apocalyptic premise taking action paced turns in a beautiful way. But then I came down to earth and saw what this movie really was for its plot and storyline. So bad, it is hilarious. The effects are still somewhat meassuring up to the standards for still being considered good but the enormous lack of carrying for any of its actual drama is just a sad story, to see those special effects "go to waste".

Aman A (gb) wrote: The movie seems to tick all the boxes (director, actor, rock, good plot) so I could not imagine why the rating would be so bad. And then I saw it. The movie is so shoddy that it makes me really wonder what were the cast and crew up to?! The acting was poor, the dialogues completely off the mark, and the filming disengaged. The music, even the music, was off (apart form the Peace Train at the end).

Richard D (ru) wrote: I have trouble being too hard on this film. What the concept promises is a hotel with a bunch of cute pups running around it, and it really delivers on that promise. You don't just get a hotel full of dogs, you also get a whole bunch of fancy contraptions that feed and entertain the dogs and take care of all of their needs. What surrounds this central idea is not too challenging ... orphans, evil step parents, a non-threatening teenage love interest for the girl orphan, friends who just come out of nowhere and volunteer to help, evil dog catchers and Don Cheadle. I won't for one second suggest that this is a conventionally good movie, but I kind of enjoyed it in a "don't think very hard about any of it" kind of way.
