Russell G (mx) wrote: I like the foundation for the story and the cast is likeable but it settles for a low dose of light humor. Instead of poking fun at academic culture and escalating situations to more exaggerated and goofy tone, this movie gets caught in an awkward place that does not result in a high laugh count. Luke Wilson leads a capable cast that makes the most of the given material. It is enjoyable but not memorable, and has its share of moments that come off as odd rather than funny. The shame is that the characters are developed well and the emotional side is well done for a comedy. With more humor this would have really worked, but as it stands it is not strong enough to excel as a romance, drama or comedy.

Ergo Sum J (mx) wrote: i would not give any weight to the tomatometer. It is a movie that passes the test of time and spawned successful TV shows. If there is anything I would agree with the self proclaimed critics is the finale was anti climatic. Didn't have bite to it. But other than that, it is worth the watch.

Richard T (ca) wrote: Big letdown. Not available on VHS in its original form and not available on DVD at all, I've been dying to see this for years. From out of Britain's reliable Hammer Horror company, it's described as undescribable...a weird mix of sci-fi, horror, romance, and 60s counter-culture. I finally caught it at a revival house complete with a pristine 35mm print...and it was all of those things, but didn't do any of them very well. Frankly, it's a mess. A biker gang leader played with hammy glee by Oliver Reed, his sister, and his sister's boyfriend unwittingly stumble upon a group of cave-dwelling radioactive children who are being primed by a mad scientist to relaunch the human race after nuclear fallout.

Paul B (it) wrote: A fine story of the daughter of The Ripper seemingly but uncontrollably emulating him. Slickly paced with a fine intro that does the back story almost as quick as it was for you to read that sentence leaving the movie to move on quickly. Good performances and lots of gore permeate the fine gothic scenery leading to a great finale in St. Pauls.
