The Island

In 2019, Lincoln Six-Echo is a resident of a seemingly "Utopian" but contained facility. Like all of the inhabitants of this carefully-controlled environment, Lincoln hopes to be chosen to go to The Island — reportedly the last uncontaminated location on the planet. But Lincoln soon discovers that everything about his existence is a lie.

Lincoln Six Echo is just like everyone else - he's waiting to go to the Island, the only place left in the world to actually live a life. Thousands of people stay at a facility waiting to go to the Island. It all sounds like paradise, but Lincoln Six Echo soon discovers that there's actually a sinister purpose going on at that facility and that he must escape - but not before stopping the sinister plan. . The Island torrent reviews

Joseph P (fr) wrote: An excellent action film with many things going for it such as a meaningful revenge based storyline, a slick exterior, and a pretty solid performance from Keanu Reeves in the titular role.

Mahfu M (ru) wrote: It starts of well, but fails to mention the kids were leftovers from Dier Yassin literally dropped off at the Old City walls. It shows only half the sotry and not in epic details the genocide. The 2nd half focusses on the ills of Arab society and subliminally portrays how bad they are indulging themselves in sex and drugs, especially the former. It then concludes with the notion that it is a 2 sided conflict and the onus is also on the victim to seek peace. Very little info on the realities of the brutal occupation after the 1st twenty minutes, and doesn't show the reality of the ethnic cleansing operations ny zionist terrorists such as Irgun and Stern gang. A film about the Nakba would be much more honest

I do, everytime I see this movie it feels like I stabing myself, it is THAT SAD! And wonderful of course, like no other kids movie are now these days, god I miss the 90's!!!

Conner R (ag) wrote: A really well done movie with strong performances and visual style. Christian Bale played a great angsty working man looking back on his past. Emily Watson also did a nice job playing such a sweet, yet controlling wife.

Bob V (us) wrote: Mega-hit and Oscar-shark at the time, and still beloved by many now, yet for some reason I find this film rather dull, and it doesn't engage me in the least, even after several viewings. Greer Garson is very good, but unfortunately she spends a lot of time off-screen, and Ronald Colman just doesn't manage to rouse my interest in the melodramatic going-ons.

Paul K (nl) wrote: Yeah, a bit of fun. Finally watched this, recorded in December. Amiable, mindless fun for the most part, slickly produced by Aardman. Some nice bits of family dynamics, but all too too quickfire, and overextended by a series of cliffhangers. Not quite on target for adults, or for young children. Young teenagers will get it best.

Priyam B (ru) wrote: One of its kind. Keeps you hooked till the last moment. A horror movie none the less but not a horrific movie. I questioned all along the movie that why the ghost looks so amateurish in such a vfx rich film? The question was answered in such a manner that it's compelling me to watch the movie again with a different perspective. If you are one of those who used to watch horror films in your childhood through the cracks between your fingers, you will love it. It never makes you jump out of your seat but keeps enough tension alive to stay scared. I can guarantee one thing about this movie - satisfaction.
