Clarissa C (de) wrote: this was good, yet sad for these people who work so hard and don't win...also they look like balloon animals just saying ... but to each his own
Eliabeth d (mx) wrote: Solid attempt, doesn't get where it wants to, but not for lack of trying. I am disappointed that it missed the message it tries for, but I think it's a beautifully talented cast given a crap script.
Gabrielle F (gb) wrote: Beautiful. However I felt as though it could've been more dramatic.
Luke R (kr) wrote: I saw this movie, 'Flash of Genius', the same weekend as 'Ghost Town' (both movies starring Greg Kinnear) and the conclusion I have come it is that they are both outstanding pieces of work and actually found it difficult to split them in terms of a rating.Ultimately, I'm rating this one ('Flash of Genius') higher but I'm at a loss to really explain why. This is more of a 'thinking' movie, with the central performance from Greg Kinnear a very good one. Lauren Graham ('Gilmore Girls') also performs admirably here as Kinnear's wife. There is a lot to like about this movie. The performances from Kinnear and Graham aside, the director got it spot on with giving the movie a 1960's feel initially and then also later years as the movie progresses.Dermot Mulroney also features in this movie, but he does not play a major part - especially as the movie goes on. I find it difficult to separate Mulroney from his best work (in 'The Family Stone') but he performs quite well here.Another great point from this movie is the surprisingly strong performances from the younger actors - which is quite often a problem in many movies. However the "kids" in this film are very believable and that it a credit to them.Overall, I'd highly recommend this movie - with what I feel was a brilliant performance from Greg Kinnear at its core.

Chris C (ag) wrote: Robert Ginty is ruthless and uses his deadly weapons early and often. Unfortunately for him, the deadliest weapon in his possession is his lack of acting talent.
Mark A (jp) wrote: Great boxing movie, lots of tough boxing action, lots of punching and very fast action. if you're into boxing this would be a great movie to rent.
Bruce B (us) wrote: This is from the Criterion Collection, and like most films from the Criterion Collection it takes over half the movie to really get into it. I saw the The BRD Trilogy: Veronika Voss (1982) version. About a Morphine addict. Had english subtitles, Movie is in German. Its rather good.
Jacob D (es) wrote: Effective popcorn thriller that's slightly dated, maybe slow at parts that doesn't exactly end "excitedly", but it's made by a convincing performance by Robert Redford and Max Von Sydow specially, with added beauty by the gracious Faye Dunaway, and some rather tense sequences. A good watch for a 70's political drama.
