The film premiered in 2011 at the Toronto International Film Festival. Film became the 15th highest grossing film in France on its opening week and grossed a total of $298,383. A crooked cop Vincent (Sisley), and his offsider Manuel jack the wrong cocaine stash in a daring daylight raid. The coke belongs to Marciano a Parisian gangster who identifies Vincent and ups his bargaining power by kidnapping Vincent's son. The kid is held in Marciano's vast nightclub a multi-storied nightclub/restaurant/pool hall venue. Vincent agrees to swap the drugs for his son but a determined young detective Lizzlie derails his plan in the nick of time. I am always on the lookout for non-stop thriller movies like this, and what a wonderful experience this has been. Last time I watched French film Point Blank and it was breathtaking; well this seemed no lesser than the earlier non-stop thrillers. Excellent cinematography from Tom Stern who is known for frequently working on Clint Eastwood movies. Much of the plot is inside the nightclub, which shows the skills of people involved in this film's making. As per requirement of being a joint Belgian-French-Luxembourgian production, the film was partially shot in these locations 1. Dance club scene was shot in Belgium 2. Scenes inside kitchen and parking scenes were shot in Luxembourg. NOTE: May God save us, as Warner Bros. Studios has bought the rights for Hollywood remake.

The meating with a worker on an oilrig that has been hurt in an accident (tim robbins) changes this... They learn to share sorrows and joys and get behind each others facade, he has a very hard facade and rejecting nature, while she is more mild but a bit closed to the outside.

Andruw F (us) wrote: With the actors and the plot, this could have been great. And I guess you could say it was, because the only real problem was the writing. The performances were all great! There was one scene with Seth Green that I thought was actually kind of funny, but it's definitely not worth watching the movie for. Maybe look it up and see if it's on YouTube. If you want.
Tatsuhito K (it) wrote: A wonderfully bizarre movie that I'm willing to revisit once again in the future. Like many of Kubrick films, some of the performances in "Eyes Wide Shut" are unbelievably awful and I can't quite understand his use of classical music. I know there are some symbolism and hidden visual metaphors throughout the film, and it has an intriguing premise, but on an emotional level it feels somewhat unsatisfying at the end.
Danny M (kr) wrote: This is rubbish. Don't see why it is so highly thought of as a classic. It's boring as hell. Really dull and bad acting for most actors. Plus it's really cheesy and gay
Phillie E (fr) wrote: Borat was better, but this will provide some cringe inducing laughter.
