Tyler R (br) wrote: I really liked it. The reviews were terrible but the movie was exactly what I thought it would be. There was very realistic car crashes and the movies simple plot moved at a very quick pace. The acting was ok but in terms of being entertained it worked.

Daniel C (ca) wrote: Kirk & crew return to Genesis to recover Spock's body.Continuing from The Wrath of Khan, the title doesn't really leave much to the imagination about what happened to Spock but as resurrection stories go, The Search for Spock isn't too bad and while being an odd-numbered Star Trek movie, I find it more enjoyable nowadays. The crew return home but they still feel incomplete with Spock absent. Not until Sarek, Spock's father, comes to see Kirk do they realise there is a chance to save Spock.Kirk decides to risk it all and takes the Enterprise back to Genesis where a Klingon commander has attacked a research ship and taken hostages, including Saavik and Kirk's son, David. The showdown results in more losses to retrieve Spock and flee the failed Genesis planet. There are some great moments in this film, especially with McCoy suffering the effects of Spock's katra in his head. The sequence 'Stealing the Enterprise' is probably one of my favourites, while her demise to stop her falling into Klingon hands is one of the saddest Enterprise moments of the franchise. As the middle movie of a trilogy, The Search for Spock does what it needs to and indeed what its title suggests it should do.
