(nl) wrote: The movie was OK. Not great, not too bad. Do desi parents really indulge in such emotional blackmail? I was embarrassed for the dad, acting like a little kid in a tantrum.

(gb) wrote: Racing Stripes is a decent film. It is about an abandoned zebra who grows up believing he is a racehorse, and, with the help of his barnyard friends and a teenage girl, sets out to achieve his dream of racing with thoroughbreds. Hayden Panettiere and Bruce Greenwood give good performances. The screenplay is enjoyable but a little slow in places. Fredrik Du Chau did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the humor and drama.

(jp) wrote: Awful - no other word for it. Earned half a star as it looked like it might be so bad it would be funny for first ten minutes but after that it just dies. I loved the way that the youngsters were smart enough to guess what was going on but not smart enough to find a door out of the building and out of this mess! Avoid!
(nl) wrote: Donnie Darko (2001) C-113m. ?? D: Richard Kelly. Jake Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone, Drew Barrymore, James Duval, Beth Grant, Patrick Swayze. Psychedelic film about an aloof teenager who is manipulated to hurt others and commit crimes by a man in a large rabbit suit. This leads Gyllenhaal (and viewer) into hypnotic odyssey of strangeness and the (supposed) supernatural. Well acted film destroyed by unsatisfying resolution. Director's Cut (which runs 133 minutes) is reportedly superior.
(de) wrote: A straight forward romcom that just does not have enough moments, emotional highs or humorous episodes to work.
