The Last Seduction

Looking to escape her unhappy marriage, villainous femme fatale Bridget Gregory (Linda Fiorentino) convinces her husband, Clay (Bill Pullman), to sell cocaine, then steals the profits and runs out on him. She stops in a small town en route to Chicago, where she ensnares her next conquest, insurance man Mike Swale (Peter Berg). After getting a job at his insurance company, Bridget convinces Mike to run a scam -- but things take a deadly turn when she recruits him to help get rid of her husband.

Bridget Gregory has a lot going for her: she's beautiful, she's intelligent, she's married to a doctor. But all of this isn't enough, as her husband Clay finds out. After she persuaded him to sell medicinal cocaine to some drugdealers, she takes off with the money, almost a million dollars, and goes undercover in a mid-American smalltown. Because Clay has to pay off a loan shark who'll otherwise damage him severely, he keeps sending detectives after her, trying to retrieve the money. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Joey F (ca) wrote: Absolutely ridiculously incredible backgrounds, heavy emotions, lackluster characters. Shinkai will get your feels going, but more because of how relatable the subject matter is rather than the inherent strength of the story.

Nicola D (us) wrote: the rape perpetrated by the US soldiers is something tough and appalling. Brian De Palma chooses a good filming to document the events, choosing some unknown actors, but delivering half the message he has in mind. I wondered at the end of the movie: "Brian De Palma wants the soldiers to come back, doesnt he? So why doesnt he say that? Why doesnt he show what these guys are experiencing down there?" I rly didnt understand his point of view about the whole war stuff.

Tim H (us) wrote: A CIA operative attempts to uncover the truth about the agency, and the world around him. Complicated (some would say too complicated) political thriller is well acted and often very suspenseful, but the jumps between multiple story lines will leave many scratching their heads.

Nyk P (nl) wrote: Everytime i see this DVD at work, i'm tempted to buy it, but i always stop myself thinking that it will just trun out to be a Japanese Tinto Brass movie.

Dave A (gb) wrote: The ultimate "PInky Violence" film, featuring Reilko Ike's famous naked swordfight in the snow, vivid psychedelic photography and a cool soundtrack (in places reminiscent of Casino Royale). These films were churned out on a production line, but were so much better made than Western exploitation films. If you want to see where Tarantino pinched his ideas from, this is a good place to start...(I'd give it 5 stars if it wasn't for a couple of dubious sexual assault scenes - what is this Japanese fixation with trying to eroticise rape?)

Paul P (us) wrote: If you're a fan of acting or Jack Lemmon you need to see Save The Tiger because he's outstanding. The story spreads itself a little too thin trying to cover almost every issue that was topical at that time. But Lemmon is amazing. You're fascinated with his character the entire way and he manages to pull off every emotion and tone with ease.

Allan C (de) wrote: Jonathan Demme got story credit on this one and did the same thing he did with "Angels Hard as They Come". In that one he took the story from "Rashmon" and put it into a biker film. In "Black Mama, White Mama" he took the story from "The Defiant Ones" and put it into a women in prison film. Not the worst of it's kind but it's not the best either.

Benne S (us) wrote: I hadn't seen this since I watched it as a child in the 70s and I have to say I really enjoyed seeing it again. Although not at all scary it is still very entertaining and slightly comedic. Its also an interesting window into how much the horror/thriller genre of filmhas changed in the almost 50 years since this was made. Whilst this is less well known and therefore less popular than Hitchcock's 'Psycho', in my opinion it definitely deserves the same "classic" status. Perhaps even cult status. Geraldine Page is wonderful as a neurotic, reclusive, cocktail drinking psychopath. I love the way she laughs after she has notched up a new victim. Ruth Gordon (Minnie Castevet in Rosemary's baby) is equally good as the ballsy Mrs Dimmock aka Aunt Alice.

Greg G (it) wrote: Smart, surprising and fun. I'm glad I didn't pay attention to the low rating on Rotten Tomatoes, because this movie definitely deserves a higher score. The leads are excellent and the direction is effortless and masterful.
