Brian C (jp) wrote: A bit of a mixed bag. Great serial killer...his abilities, the poetry...great. The heroine was very cool too...and the main lead was decent, and the story was great. The dream sequences were interesting. So why only 2.5 stars? Nothing gelled together. This movie was just a bunch of great ideas and some decent set pieces, but it didn't really come together as a cohesive movie. It lacked something, and its hard to put my finger on what it was. Maybe it was the shifting genre, maybe just the improbability of some plot elements. I am not sure.I did enjoy it, but felt it was pretty lackluster.Jeffry Combs was awesome as he is in everything.

Will C (au) wrote: Whilst the dialogue is so riddled with clichs it essentially becomes a giant, lone clich, and some of the actors appear almost embarrassed at times, it is scored to near perfection by Lorne Balfe, and some of the characterisation is likeable. Just such a waste of potential. At least John Thaw wasn't here to see it.

Renee C (ca) wrote: I thought it was a good adaptation of the classic work. Considering the low budget and time constraints, I think they did a great job. I'm glad I read the book. I wish more people would see this and comprehend her message.

Jose Gabriel S (br) wrote: It's a rehash of the first film only that the roles are switched. The characters are forgettable, the songs are bland and it lacks the magic from the first. Do yourself a favour and trade it for the first one.

Caitlin L (nl) wrote: Such a sad beginning with such a great and touching ending.

Jon (br) wrote: A scathing psychosexual commentary on the state of affairs in modern Tokyo. The film paints the place as being void of emotion, its citizens alienated from each other as well as themselves. Graphic but not gratuitous, novelist Murakami explores themes very common in his novels (69, Almost Transparent Blue, In the Miso Soup) with his brave and succinct and unflinchingly critical narrative style.

Orlok W (fr) wrote: We've seen this kind of movie before but it's still worth the ride because Walter Hill drives it--Don't bother calling room service. Everyone's dead!!

Vadim D (us) wrote: Pretty silly...actually just pretty bad

Freddie F (ca) wrote: Vittorio De Sica hits a home-run with his stunning drama about a broken nation, a nation trying to solve a problem with no solution, and two young boys who get caught in the middle of it. De Sica is one of the best directors ever when it comes to capturing the humanity and sentimentality of anguish and tragedy and this is one of his great films.

Recomendada.
