Saitou Y (ca) wrote: A mediocre movie with an original concept, a fine plot and fine action scenes. 'In Time' is kinda messed up though.

Leo L (nl) wrote: Nicole Beharie is a powerhouse, I hope she gets to play more roles like this, her episodes in Shame just weren't long enough to satisfy me

Faisal A (mx) wrote: Enjoyable, if not too formulaic, genre film about "getting the band back together". This is a cliched story, with very familiar characters, but it is not a bad thing, necessarily; its just been recycled too often and there isn't as much to take away. My highest compliments go to the direction and acting; Eastwood has a very good eye for focus and for casting (although Garner and Sutherland needed a bit more screen time), and he allows you to enjoy the company of these airspace veterans and appreciate where they all come from. This could have been a great film (like most average films potentially aspire to be), but alas, it settles to go "by the numbers", and does its job well.

Corey n (ca) wrote: This is a solid movie starring Harrison Ford and Kristin Scott Thomas. Basically about a cop's wife and a politician's husband end up dying in a plane crash. The cop was unsure why his wife was on that flight and begins to suspect that she was having a affair with the politician's husband. While they try and piece this info together they both begin to fall in love with each other. Plus they must deal with the hurt and pain of losing others that they loved and who betrayed them. This movie is sort of a love story with a drama twist. Director Sydney Pollack does a good job making this story work. Harrison Ford and Kristin Scott Thomas are both great in this. Some may find the story boring or slow at times. But I liked it. Worth a watch.

Amy R (au) wrote: How do we forgive our bad wigs? Maybe in a dream? Despite the oversight of the Ed Wood moment with the wig taking me out of the movie, the glorious plot, lovable characters, and narrative makes me forgive anything. This movie has equal parts heart and humor. I love this film.

Shawn W (br) wrote: Tastes just like Sprite, don't it?In this spin-off from the French Connection Roy Scheider is the leader of an elite team of cops (the titular soft drinks) who target high-profile crooks. New York's gangsters are being held to ransom by extortionists posing as the Seven-Ups and strike back against the cops.Set against the bleak, imposing backdrop of early 70s New York, a time in which almost every building was decaying and all new architecture was a brutalist, concrete nightmare, the Seven-Ups is every bit as old school as it could possibly be. If you like the cold, paranoid atmosphere of movies like Ronin or the retro-style of Bullitt you'll definitely get a kick out of this.Aesthetically, the film is horrific, with ugly people and bad fashion all over the place. It's an abomination of bad taste and degradation. But as a simple cop thriller it's got all the right moves. The stand-out car chase at the half-way point is quite impressive and it's a shame that it seems to have been forgotten among the ubiquitous "Best Car Chase" countdowns on TV and on the Internet.Fans of the French Connection, cop thrillers or overlooked 70s movies that represent an attitude to filmmaking and life long since gone should definitely check it out.
