Andrew W (au) wrote: not bad. see, most of the people that went to see it wanted it to prove that the government shouldn't keep secrets. the problem with this movie (for them) is, it doesn't have a narrator. so, no one guiding the conversation. thus, when the documentarians put a mostly balanced look at why the government should keep secrets and why it should not, that audience felt a little betrayed. i enjoyed the movie for this balanced look. i felt it mostly presented the argument that the government shouldn't keep secrets. however, it also argued that it was ok for some secrets to be held (like when they found a way to monitor osama bin laden's satellite phone) so long as the government truly evaluated the validity of the secrets being kept (unlike in the reynolds trial). not bad.
Chosen 7 (br) wrote: Decent modern western/drama [Straight-To-DVD] about a Border Patrol Officer whose past as a gangster catches up with him. Good cinematography. Good performances by Cuba Gooding Jr., Omari Hardwick, and Evan Ross. Decent performance by Sharon Leal and Dean Norris. It was a bit slow in the beginning but as it progressed it got more entertaining. The ending could have been better, it was kind of predictable but it was realistic. Overall it's a solid film, with better writing and a bigger budget [which would have allowed for the casting of a better supporting cast...not to mention a score] it would have been a lot better. Cuba Gooding Jr. is still a great actor; he just needs more big screen roles for people to really appreciate him more.

Don't care if the mutt attacks me, it's my [email protected]*,%# house $^#>! Wow, this was recycled scene after scene, and half of them are done badly! Why was this necessary? Just because it was remade for the date 6-6-06!? Nothing but a douchebag move on the part of the studio in order to make a quick buck!

Eric H (nl) wrote: This movie just reinforces the spirit of patriotism that has gripped this country. It should be re-released on DVD. It is very hard to find it, even as a rental. I think this is one of the best movies ever made. The message is one of patriotism, morality, and true soul-searching to determine what is the RIGHT thing to do. This is an exercise everyone would do well to implement.
