Ryan V (au) wrote: Drawn Together was a raunchy TV comedy where a group of broadly-defined cartoon archetypes were sequestered under constant surveillance and obliged to compete in challenges reflective of then-popular reality TV programs like The Surreal Life, Fear Factor, Big Brother, or Survivor. That sounds like a concept that instantly dates itself, so it's a bit of a surprise to find that this series limped along for three seasons and a direct-to-DVD movie. The film attempts to tie up the arc of Drawn Together with a metafictional story that relies heavily upon lazily-written "shock humor", incredibly cheap-looking animation, and a general vibe of sour grapes. However, for all its blustering about with crude jokes and "politically incorrect" fratboy humor, The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie! is almost relentlessly dull; that's probably the cardinal sin for any creative project that seems to pride itself upon being tasteless.

Dann M (es) wrote: Based on a Stephen King short story, Sometimes They Come Back is a dark, supernatural thriller. After a number of Jim Norman's students are murdered and mysteriously replaced by the undead, he's forced to confront the demons of his past. The acting is pretty mediocre and doesn't really capture the terror or intensity needed for a horror film. And, the plot meanders a bit and is a little vague on some points. It's a problematic film, but Sometimes They Come Back is able to deliver a few frights.

Scott M (nl) wrote: A great film! Some fantastic magic tricks and a great cast! I wasn't sure what to expect when seeing this but loved it! I was hooked on what would happen but the tricks in this we're obviously fake and would most likely never be able to be done but we're incredible to watch.

Michael M (de) wrote: Borrows quite a bit from BLAIR WITCH, but its back-to-basics approach and a key 21-minute single take make it worthwhile.

Melanie T (mx) wrote: I truly enjoy seeing a traditional "feel good" movie. I found the characters and the storyline fun and refreshing. Films like these are few and far between these days.

Guimo P (us) wrote: In general, Extraordinary Tales is more of a visual exercise that a genuine exposition of Poe's literary pieces. The shorts are creative, handsome, striking and mournful but not all effectively capture the charm and magic in Poe's stories. They are simply too inert and subdued to bring enough life and momentum to the materials.
