Joe H (ru) wrote: A scathing critique of America's rabid media consumption, utilizing a real-life 50's game show scandal to fundamentally challenge audience perception and bring light to classic and oft-ignored showbiz conflict: honesty vs. entertainment. In an age of exaggerated, sensationalist TV, this 90's film is more applicable now than ever, and leads one to wonder how "real" reality TV is, or more troubling, how "real" reality TV can even be. Redford's directing is slick and restrained, lending the film a thoughtful immediacy to its thematic conclusions. Additionally, the entire cast is exceptional. John Turtoro, Ralph Fiennes, and Paul Scofield in particular give some of the best performances of their careers. In an immensely crowded decade, Quiz Show remains one of the greatest and most compelling films of the 90's, whose lasting themes are still applicable and indeed, fundamental.

Auriana B (es) wrote: This entire film is like watching the most achingly beautiful paintings in motion, portraying sumptuous & haunting ritualistic sights & sounds in ancient Armenia. This portrait of the life & rise to spiritual & national power of poet Sayat Nova, is truly one of the most stunning & inspiring films I have ever seen! My senses are still reeling from watching it!
Mysterious F (br) wrote: Federico Fellini's surreal, beautiful, philosophical, confessional masterwork about the doubts plaguing a woman (Giulietta Masina, his wife) whose happiness begins to diminish after she begins to fear her husband (Mario Pusi) is having an affair, and seeks comfort in her lively neighbor (Sandra Milo). The lovely Masina gives a truly masterful performance, enchanting the viewer while holding his attention at all times, despite whatever wonders also fill the screen, and the introduction of her character is one of the great masterpieces of cinema. This was Fellini's first film an color, and he takes complete advantage of the new medium with heavy, bright colors, lavish sets, otherworldly costumes, and unusual fantasies. It might just be the most sumptuous and visually striking film he ever made. Masina and Fellini were most likely having marital issues at the time, and, similar to his previous film, 8 1/2, used this movie as a way to simultaneously exorcise their demons and reveal the process that these issues took root and grew to the audience. Unmissable.

Nick F (jp) wrote: pretty good movie. I don't see why the critics hated this so much. it's about a guy trying to tie up loose ends in his life and most of them are pretty amusing. his brother is a riot. subject matter is rather heavy but it's a good story
Joshua L (us) wrote: It's gotta cool soundtrack that's pretty damn repetitive, It has some damn cool action chase sequences but My problem with the movie is that alot of acting especially in the beginning, feels forced or over done. Either way you look at it there is just something off about the acting in the movie.
