(br) wrote: You can tell everyone involved is doing it for more than just the money; to pay respect to a classic and a legend, but it just can't add up to more than a weak imitation of the original. However, it's worth seeing if your a fan of the original.
(ca) wrote: I LOVE this movie. Was recommended to me by someone at a camp I went to. It's originally a TV movie and then went to video. It's a moving and beautiful story. I'm so glad it's finally on the Flix database. The movie has two storylines that eventually merge. In the main one Sophia marries into a mafia family and it becomes one heartbreak after the other. The end of the movie is such a powerful moment, especially for Sofia.

(es) wrote: Kate Hudson is sublime as the teen 'Band Aid' used and discarded by a middling rock guitarist on his way up the charts. Everyone else is meh, as the entire picture seems a TV-safe, romantic depiction of the drug & sex-addled "last grope of rock n roll".Oh, and Jason Lee looks SO MUCH like Ryan Reynolds, it's freaking distracting.
(it) wrote: The first real cyber-punk movie ever with commercial success. The movie is certainly NOT full of clichs, since it is the first of its kind - a trend-setter for all cyber-punk movies to come. Although the manuscript could benefit from a few extra hours of work, the movie itself and the concept behind it, is the perfect school for Keanu Reeves to learn his role as "Neo" in "The Matrix". Set your mind free, and allow your imagination to take over... just for a little while. This movie is certainly no less realistic than "The Matrix", and a `must-see' for any science fiction fan !!!
(fr) wrote: Clever but not always realistic, with a very good Ellen Page in the titular role. Michael Cera is likable, Jennifer Garner rather average and the trio of Jason Bateman, Allison Janney and J.K. Simmons very good. It's a bittersweet affair that feels a little one-sided sometimes but remains worthwhile.
