Em F (gb) wrote: Some good jokes but the acting was awkward.

Rebecca O (gb) wrote: this movie is so bad i can't finish watching it. why was it so hard for her to keep running since hitting the woods? and why won't she put down that toolbox... maybe just stick to the wrench? Oh and those bad guys are real scary. I think I'd rather change the channel to lifetime.

Jacqueline M (jp) wrote: The plot was kinda contrived, but what the hell! There's Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro and that's all that matters. =P

Private U (br) wrote: It gets half a star only because i didnt figure out how to set zero stars. S - H - I - T - T - Y

Moya W (it) wrote: For the first ten minutes of this movie I kept thinking: Wow, how could I have missed this one? Seeing as it seemed to be a movie in my taste. It started off with a good soundtrack and quote that made you want to continue watching it. Although, then it gradually started to get a bit lame and I didn't really feel that attached to the storyline anymore. It was easy to sit through it but it's one of those movies to watch when you just need something to do for the next 107 minutes but it just won't stay with you for much longer afterwards.

Samphan R (it) wrote: A romantic thriller that do everything opposite to what Hollywood would do.

Walter M (de) wrote: In "Santa Sangre," Concha(Blanca Guerra) runs away from the circus to start a cult that is centered around a murdered girl with no arms. Since all things must end, their church is being threatened by developers. Luckily for them, a monsignor(Sergio Bustamante) intervenes but is shocked when he finds out that the supposed pool of blood is really filled with paint. Without his support, the demolition proceeds and since nobody else has the courage of their convictions, Concha is left alone in the path of the bulldozer. But her son Fenix(Adan Jodorowsky) comes to her emotional rescue, reminding her that there are more important things to live for. As she rejoins the circus, she is none too thrilled to see her husband's(Guy Stockwell) eyes wandering to the tattooed lady(Thelma Tixou). All of that really is just a setup for an adult Fenix(Axel Jodorowsky) to climb the walls naked in a mental hospital before eating some raw fish that is not sushi. And as much as I admire Alejandro Jodorowsky for trying something different from his usual symbolic religious works, why did it have to be a garden variety horror film, albeit one with some underlying psychological meaning? In any case, the circus setting is by far the best part of the movie and more could have done to explore that.

Dave S (jp) wrote: A sort of chase/caper movie that's lacking in both - too much of the movie has Matthau just sending letters and moving to another location before they're even received, which I guess counts as being evasive but doesn't make for much suspense. Eventually more specific antics and set-ups kick in, but it's all too little too late.

laurent c (au) wrote: I can't believe the critics on rottentomatoes : this movie is just a masterpiece. Brillantly directed by Bob Altman and played by Sandy Dennis, it's one of the most gripping movie and before it's time movie that i've seen in a long time. Don't miss it !

Erdenesuvd B (kr) wrote: One of my favourite of all time just because Enid's character so much alike with mine and also I love her fashion and generally the fashion of the movie. How she is listening to the song that Seymore suggested and her catgirl mask :)

Allan C (ag) wrote: Terrific Douglas Sirk melodrama from the William Faulkner novel "Pylon." I have not read the Faulker book, but I'm guessing it was nowhere as soapy as the film, but as soapy melodrama's go, no one does them better than Douglas Sirk. Robert Stack plays a boozy disillusioned WWI flying ace who now spends his days as a barnstorming pilot at rural carnivals with his neglected parachutist wife, Dorothy Malone, who he only married as a result of a literal roll of the dice. Rock Hudson plays a reporter doing a story on this dysfunctional traveling family of flyers that also includes Jack Carson, Troy Donahue, and William Schallert. Sirk's perchance for over-the-top drama is probably not going to look great to modern viewers, but for fans of classic Hollywood and fans of Sirk in particular, this film is a must see!
