(nl) wrote: The first film Raid redemption was an action packed movie from start to finish that I would definitely watch again. Iko Uwais again plays a great part only this time he is protecting his family still plenty of action his fighting skills are as equal as the late great Bruce Lee. The train sequence is just mind blowing. I gave it 5 stars but would give it more if I could.
(ca) wrote: Yes it's stylish, yes it has "ideas" but Aronofsky does little with either except try to overwhelm the audience and trick them into thinking the its all brilliant because math and chaotic editing. Upon repeated viewings, this feels less like a fully formed film and more like the graduate thesis of a man who watched a lot of David Lynch and David Cronenberg but didn't understand any of it.
