Jeffrey G (ru) wrote: Ended up watching this movie because there was nothing else on. It seemed like it was going to be another "love conquers all" kind of movie, but the movie begins to take an interesting direction beyond romance half way through. The pseudo-science is done well in being explained in a dumbed down version without trying to risk any real scientific formulas or explanations, which I enjoy (also, it's based in an alternate reality kind of physics, so I suppose you can get away with anything). In the end it calls into question free will and fate. It ends up giving a solid answer (I won't give away which wins out), but the characters end up saying "who cares, as long we're happy?" If free will won out, yay! If the world is predetermined, what can you do to stop it? It may seem like cowardice by remaining unambiguous, but I hate philosophy anyway. I enjoy the message: just do what makes you happy, whether you were destined to or not.
