I just find the idea horribly repetitive and I don't enjoy the fact that the majority of the films rely on the planning of the caper itself. This makes sense to be fair, but the character usually take a backseat to the planning. I usually find the planning AND the characters generic and dull. That's why I'm so surprised that I enjoyed the movie as much as I did. The planning is actually really interesting since the characters themselves aren't on the same page, they're each out looking for number one and that makes the eventual heist more interesting since you don't know who's gonna back-stab who. And I liked that. It also helps to know that, at least, there's some ACTUAL character development here and the characters aren't just BODIES that have no discernible personalities. The good thing is that the caper itself isn't the end game. It's what happens afterwards after the Koreans are betrayed by somebody, who I won't spoil. The movie only gets better after the caper itself happens. There's a lot of betrayals and twists but the movie never becomes a parody of itself. It's not like the twists are mind-blowing that you won't see coming, but they make sense in the context of the film, so thumbs up for that. The movie isn't complex, as it relates to characters or story, but it does have a lot it want to get out there and it does so relatively easy. It's not a film that is hard to follow at all despite a lot going on. The film is also, for its genre, surprisingly long but it's a movie that just flies by, it's really an entertaining and stylish flick. The action sequences, there aren't that many maybe 2 at the most, are particularly exciting. And the cast was also excellent. But, and most importantly, the film had NO MELODRAMA. Of course this isn't strictly a comedy or a romance, though it has aspects of both, but it's still good to see a movie not forcing in some unnecessar dramatic aspects. If I had done a list of films that pleasantly surprised me, this film would place highly on that list. It's certainly not even close to being a great movie, but I never expected to like this movie as much as I did. It's just a really fun caper flick, so if you have Netflix and want to watch something entertaining, then this is highly recommended.

Uma direo simples e segura, um roteiro que no apela ao melodrama, atuaes precisas. Um filme sensvel que trata sobre um tema difcil. Recomendo.

It had two crazy guys who worked in a morgue and a big black Frankenstein guy who became a great basketball player. Charlie Murphy plays a crazy guy in every role that he takes. I didn't like the fact that they had the little girl cursing at Charlie Murphy's character. Everyone should know that the morgue workers' team was going to win the 3 on 3 basketball tournament and Frankenstein would end up with the fly honey and improve his vocabulary.

This particular film follows Pastor Becky Fischer, director of an Evangelic Christian summer camp for the youth off her parish. There are far too many unbelievable quotes to be made from what this determined woman preaches, however perhaps just one might spike your appetite:"And let me say this about Harry Potter. Warlocks are enemies of God! And I don't care what kind of hero they are, they're an enemy of God, and had it been in the Old Testament, Harry Potter would have been put to death!"~ Pastor Becky Fischer (almost shouting)

(nl) wrote: Despite being historically inaccurate, as said by Lisa Simpson, it is a work adapted from a play from Peter Shaffer. F. Murray Abraham was perfect as Antonio Salieri, the jealous composer that really hates Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his Oscar was well deserved. Tom Hulce was also a really annoying Mozart. 8 from 11 nominations won at the Oscars. Incredible! Listening to Mozart's music throughout the 3-hour film is great!

(au) wrote: Somewhere in the new Richard Gere film The Benefactor are 2 pretty good movies. Unfortunately writer/director Andrew Renzi combined two projects into one and made a sloppy and uneven film instead. While the reason behind Franny's (Gere) need to be a benefactor as well as need to be a morphine addicted billionaire are both linked to the death of his two best friends in a car accident that he survived, the film would have been better served as a creepy stalker horror type had he decided to become very intrusive on his now deceased best friends daughter Olivia (Dakota Fanning) and her new husband the good doctor Luke (Theo James - Four from the Divergent series) and their as yet unborn child, it could have gotten very weird and uncomfortable. It often was, especially with some sexually tense moments between Franny and Luke that became so because of the monetary power Franny held over the young couple. A doctor that would allow himself to be coerced into taking ecstasy but not be talked into writing a prescription for morphine is a curious set of moral values. Franny could easily have threatened Luke with a toxicology screening now that he had the drugs in his system in order to get what he wanted, but he didn't. Instead he went to extreme measures of self mutilation to try and get he wanted. It just doesn't fit into a strong narrative structure.Alternately, this could have been a film about the kindly father figure type that Franny would become as they grew as a family unit and Franny helped foot the bills to make it all happen and then later would have worked through his addiction to painkillers together for a very nice and warm film giving Gere a chance to spread his wing's some as someone undergoing treatment for a severe morphine addiction. But that didn't happen either. Instead we get a third of a film about the kindly benefactor who is also perhaps around too much for a third of the film and then starts to lose it when he can't get his drugs anymore. I have issues with a script that has a man who can move a few things around at his bank to buy a Philadelphia suburbs home on a giant lot and pay off $400,000 in student loan debt not having enough money to be able to get what he needs prescribed to him.In the end the film lacks focus and leaves us wanting out instead of wanting more. Two people at my screening walked out around the 40 minute mark never to be seen again. This Queen was bored. 1 out of 5 rainbows.1 rainbow - How did this get funded?2 rainbows - You might find something of interest here but unlikely.3 rainbows - Serves as a useful and entertaining enough distraction as a matinee.4 rainbows - Stop reading this review and find a theater showing this film now!5 rainbows - I'll need to find a spot for this in my Top 100 list.
