Jermaine P (de) wrote: Really?!? People actually liked this pathetic attempt for a hood drama?!? I guess u don't have to have decent acting or dialogue to make a movie...this movie made me want to break the DVD after I was done but we laughed all the way through it because the whole thing was comical

rita a (fr) wrote: The movie is visually stunning. Each shot is a framable work of art. The pace reflects the time and place and her inevitable bad fortune telegraphed just well enough. Actress is superb.

Sandy H (jp) wrote: I have to say the idea is a little repetitive. Everyone is linked together by another person and they don't know it, how many times has that been done? Other than that, yeah ok it's a little interesting...maybe...I did finish it.

Brinn O (it) wrote: I love Robin Williams and the effects. Also its sweet and sentimental. But, if your trying to find wit and minute by minute gags, this isn't the place to look for it.

Kaneda (ca) wrote: Sneakers - I can't find a valid flaw with this movie. Funny as hell, too. - $5 Avalon - This film had great potential, and every student in film school should see it simply for the amazing use of lighting, and colorization. As for the film itself, it leaves a little to be desired, but it is an enjoyable little trip. - $15 Virus - Yeah, I know. But I found a copy in DTS for 5 bucks so cut me some slack, its gonna sound sweet. And its better than getting kicked in the shins. Hellraiser - I seem to remember part 2 creeping me out more than the first one, but that was some time ago. Now I see, part one is a better overall product. Still, Ashley Lawrence is scorching hot. Wow. Hellraiser 2 - Read above, douchebag.

Stephen M (mx) wrote: This is a splendid little Hitchcockian thriller from Jonathan Demme. Roy Scheider plays Harry Hannan, a government agent recovering from a nervous breakdown after losing his wife in a botched attempt on his life. Fearful of further assassination attempts after being labelled a dangerous liability by his boss, Harry's nerves are shredded even further when he receives a mysterious death threat in Biblical Hebrew. Although certain characters (guilt-ridden, delicate hero - Vertigo), situations (shower scene - Psycho) and settings (bell tower - Vertigo again) are unmistakably Hitchcockian - and the movie even finds time to reference first generation Hitchcock clones like Henry Hathaway's Niagara - Demme's film is always a cut above mere pastiche because he makes little or no attempt to imitate the master's style. In place of Hitch's elegant backdrops and rigidly storyboarded perfectionism, Demme substitutes gritty locations, handheld camerawork and spontaneity. Scheider is superb as the haunted hero and Miklos Rozsa's score is simply beautiful.

The S (ca) wrote: Classic adventure based on a novel by Alistair Maclean. A stellar cast, non-stop action and intrigue and marvelous visuals and sets - the star of which is the tilting submarine inards. One bit always annoys me - the stock footage of Phantom jets pretending to be Migs but its a petty gripe about what is one of my favourite films.
