A personal exploration into the life of America's controversial former CIA Director told through the eyes of his wife and filmmaker son, Carl. His snappy dialogue and code of chivalry contrast with potty-mouthed bad guys and liberated women of today. He seem to carry a bubble of Old Movie Physics around him-- his punches land square, and his escapes are wonderfully implausible. Gibson Frazier as the title character captures the mannerisms of the era perfectly. Filmed in glorious black and white.
