Miriam G (nl) wrote: The movie is generally very good, if somewhat disjointed. The movie never decides whether it's a tragedy or a caper-buddy movie and ultimately fails at both. Laughing feels inappropriate and crying seems absurd. Somehow the movie manages to remain endearing and engrossing through great direction and an incredible performance by Mark Ivanir as the title character.

James H (de) wrote: Decent retelling of King Solomon's Mines. It is just a rip-off of the Indian Jones movies, but is still entertaining. The cinematography is pretty good and the special effects are respectable.

Jeremy C (de) wrote: Documentary style drama throughout most of the film... until the revenge bit at the end. The ending didn't feel like a completion as much as the film pushed for it. I want to know what happened to Maria and others. This film really rattles the viewers moral compass. Ultimately, I enjoyed that the main character in City of God maintained his moral fiber during the film. However, Matias's morphing from this film may be a more accurate portrayal.

Paul D (mx) wrote: Kevin Bacon does well in his Dustin Hoffman inspired performance, but is leet down somewhat in Hutton's dumbing down of the storyline, clearly aiming a mature film for a younger audience group.

Steve W (jp) wrote: Woody Allen's homage to marriage and Rear Window is a solid comedy murder mystery. When his wife suspects the neighbour of murder, she begins investigating with a fellow acquaintance, and get a bit closer than he'd like. The result is an easy going and sometimes funny movie, but Allen sometimes overacts. Its not one of his greatest films but its a reasonably enjoyable distraction.

Kevin S (de) wrote: This follows the two dimwits laurel and hardy as they want to go to the sons of the desert convention in Chicago but must convince their wives first. Ones wife won't let him so they convince her he is stressed out and must see a doctor in Hawaii. Fortunately the wives find out the hard way that they are not in Hawaii after they learn a ship went down. Thinking they were on it and are now widows the watch a video of the convention in Chicago and see them on it. UH Oh are they in big trouble. This is my first view of a laurel and hardy movie and I really enjoyed it. I thought they were really funny. I think if you like abbot and Costello or even the three stooges you would like laurel and hardy.
