As the human story unfolds, what began as unbearably beautiful shots of space and landscape become plain unbearable. And yet it does not leave you despairing but very reflective; I sat in silence for some time.

Cross Indiana Jones with the Goonies and make the lead an American cliche who isnt as tough or strong as he thinks he is, but has a great personality and heart and you get Big Trouble in Little China. Great watch.

Doris Day is the all-American Mom and she plays the role beautifully. Full of fun and cute nuances, this movie will make you wish you lived nextdoor to her and her husband and their beautiful children. A simpler time for sure. My only critique if any, is that it's about 15 minutes too long...but when it was over, I missed them! :) A great Doris Day/James Garner film.

(kr) wrote: I may stand alone, but I consider this film a great homage to film noir. I really enjoyed watching it, and I thought the ending was satisfying. I love to hate femme fatales and Joanne Whalley-Kilmer does not disappoint me. First I loved her, then I hated her, and I wanted nothing more to see her get it in the end. The sad thing is--she is so selfish and crazed in this movie--you cannot be quite sure she will pay for her sins in the end. I say--watch it.
