Kai M (jp) wrote: Interesting dark, underlying governmental C. I. A twist... Not bad, but not great...

Ana Paula C (kr) wrote: Good film , nice animation and a funny script. Overall it has a creative , heartwarming narrative unlike any other christmas movie.

David T (ag) wrote: Worst movie I have ever watched, just because it had DDR I needed to see it lol.

Lee B (nl) wrote: In a comment that is not meant to be as derogatory as it is as written: this is an insignificant movie. Even for Cobain fans, there is nothing that really brings more to fans, and gives nothing to casual or non-fans. From the start, I quickly tuned out and switched to putting on my computer while washing dishes. I didn?t need to watch the loose association and ambient artistic images. An occasional jab from a story Kurt would tell was interesting, but nothing particularly enlightening or terribly engaging. But I ?watched? on, possibly because I had just vacationed in Seattle, or else it is because of the anti-charismatic charisma that Cobain has. There is no filter, and no real hiding. He just is. Whether contradictions or surliness or just fluff, you kind of wondered what he would say next.

Naoya K (au) wrote: This film has so tremendous amount of sense of "now" (especially for a man like me who has grown up in Tokyo) that it is hard to believe that this film was made more than 10 years ago. There are some points in director's personal politics and feelings against Japan that I cannot fully agree with, but still the script is really well-written, and images, performance, and other factors are all powerful. Harada is, I think, really one of the important directors of contemporary (90s and 00s) Japanese cinema.

Tero H (es) wrote: Funny jokes, and especially Stan Laurel is hilariously funny! He made me laugh and I liked this film overall. I must say, though, that the weaknesses in this movie are the bad sets - obviously painted, cardboard sets - and the weak story. The storytelling also limps seriously, and the plot doesn't have heads or tails. The songs are nice, and the actors are generally likeable, not just Laurel and Hardy. Yet, Laurel and Hardy are the ones who make the film work, and enjoyable, despite its problems. Not their best movie, but it is fun and I can recommend seeing this black-and-white musical-comedy for everyone to see at least once.

Art S (it) wrote: This much-heralded silent film comedy starring Harold Lloyd is actually very funny and I laughed out loud a few times (not an easy feat to achieve). Lloyd plays a young man who moves to the big smoke to make good and thereby wed his waiting fiancee. As a department store salesman, he has all sorts of mishaps -- especially when his fiancee shows up unexpectedly and he tries to pretend he is the boss. Of course, the scene where he scales the tall building and ends up hanging from the clock is the most famous (later imitated by Jackie Chan, among others).
