Lee M (es) wrote: You gotta kinda like to deconstruct films and film genres as they have changed over time to get this film. Luckily I kinda do like to do both of those things.

Frederic C B (ag) wrote: The Good Part:Bringing a somewhat "Phantom of the Opera"-like storyline to a movie intended for children is a truly wonderful feat. Decent to amazing animation for a movie that doesn't come from Hollywood. The Bad Part:The Parisian-style music probably doesn't work for everyone's taste. I'm not quite sold in giving Francoeur a female-esque singing voice. Can't help but wonder how gorgeous the songs would've sounded if he was given a deep male voice instead.

Matthew H (fr) wrote: A thoroughly amusing documentary. I like Zizek, even though I don't agree with him. Edited together in a very witty fashion, and it never really descends into hero worship.

Dennis F (it) wrote: Worth watching a couple of times - great animation and voice talents - though not one of the absolute best animated films, such as Toy Story

Maximus G (jp) wrote: Pretty good, a little slow at the beginning, but it is an overall great movie full of action, suspense, and horror!! Not to scary though :)

Sydney Amman (ca) wrote: LOVE the series! Copies storylines from the series but just as funny.

Scott A (it) wrote: I wasn't much a fan of the original film, and maybe this one being a tad more serious in tone helped, but I really enjoyed this remake. It has a GREAT cast. It is also very violent and they really give you a sense of dread with our group being surrounded in this tiny police station. I thought Hawke and Bello were fantastic in this, but de Matteo was also a standout. And Dennehy plays a terrific a-hole in this. You really do want to see him meet his end from the first scene he's in.I also thought, like the original, a few deaths were a bit shocking. You can usually tell from the first frame who will live or die, but one death was a total shocker.Ja Rule and Leguizamo offer up the comedy and I think for the most part it hinders the film. And the ending was a bit of a let down from all the awesome stuff that came before it.

Jakub M (nl) wrote: Even though the meaning of this thing officially beats me, I couldn't help but watch it with a big smile on my face. You've got people who can't leave the living room, and nobody knows why. Then there are some sheep and a bear running around. Whatever it is, it's good, if only for the sake of escaping reality and rules of logic for a while.

Carol M (fr) wrote: I am no Efron fan, and this is not a "great" movie, but for its genre, I found it less mawkish than most. I don't understand why the reviews were so acidic in their criticism of this film. It managed to hold my interest despite my not being a fan of the sentimental death flick.

Brady S (ru) wrote: I love Spielberg movies a lot, but this one is one of my least favorites of his.

David L (jp) wrote: What do you get if you bring all the bad ass action heroes into one movie? Answer is the expendables, a very watchable movie. The trouble is, with so many a-listers in one place, it's difficult to kill any of them off as they're all so used to playing the sole surviving victor. Having not watched a great deal of the films these guys star in, some of the names were less familiar to me, but despite being several different faces on screen, they all share an identical personality, with deep voices, bodies dosed up with steroids, and bitches always by their side. It's kind of like a macho version of bond, with less jokes, less cheese, but more violence. It's very mafia like, and about the only thing it is missing is Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. Having said that, there was one very corny scene with Terminator and Rambo in that became quite cringeworthy when it made references to Presidency and living life in the jungle, but I'll put that down to butch actors just attempting showing their witty side as a one off. Other than that, it was raw brute against brute in a beefcake fest to the death. It did well to give each star a good amount of screen time, with a great showcase of combat moves from wrestling to Kung fu. I'm surprised at how much I actually enjoyed this as I thought it would be all braun and no brains behind its direction, yet it kept me engaged throughout. Whether the movie itself was big enough to be labelled a success is debatable as I imagine it would have had to have taken a substantial amount of returns to fund the actors wages in this. Nevertheless, with my leisure head on as opposed to my business mind, this was a pretty recommendable production, where I would be only too happy to see the sequel.

Chris Z (mx) wrote: This is one of the most disturbing movies I've seen in a while. There are not too many horror movies that I can confidently say are scary, but along with Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer, Spoorloos is what the genre should be (but rarely is). It pains me to learn that the American remake changed the ending, and thus changed the entire point of the movie. Please watch this version.

Nick G (es) wrote: Can't say anything about Alien Nation that hasn't been said before, extremely average buddy cop flick with aliens. Could've been far more interesting but just isn't and sometimes just seeing Caan run about LA with a heavily dressed up Patinkin feels very surreal and distracting.Inspiration to the superior District 9 is obvious and Alien Nation isn't a bad film in any respect, Caan and Patinkin have good chemistry, the story is gripping enough and the dialogue and differences between the two leads can be very entertaining at times, but there is a lot of wasted potential in Alien Nation it doesn't live up to the premise.
