Courtney K (nl) wrote: another anthology -- the title now makes sense. this is most definitely not the best anthology film i've seen, however it's definitely not the worst one i've seen either. i really appreciated the fact that the 5 shorts were tied together with a single character passing by or a name of a company -- made it seem like all 5 of these stories were happening at the same time. i really like how they did that. i also enjoyed the last story; it actually started to hurt my ears and i wondered for a split second if i was going to go nuts :-/ if you've got nothing better to do and appreciate fairly original and creative stories, whether or not they were executed to their full potential, then i'd say this is worth the watch.

Paige (mx) wrote: I understand what you're all saying. Yes, this movie has a typical story line. A Farm girl with big dreams meets a prince-in-hiding. They fall in love, she finds out he's a prince, they brake up. Then they get back together and live happily ever after. But that doesn't matter. It was a great movie! It was funny and romantic! I definitely loved it!The only downside is that in the next movie, Julia Stiles doesn't play Paige! I'm not going to watch it because changing the main character makes the story totally different! And then in the third movie someone else plays Eddie! That just takes the movie/story away entirely! Julia Stiles IS Paige. And Luke Mably IS Eddie There's no way around it. Aside from all of that, the first movie was amazing! It was very heart warming and had a great ending! <3

Mark H (it) wrote: First Blood introduced us to Sylvester Stallone's second iconic character of his career. A war-battered former green beret searching for friends 8-10 years after returning home from Vietnam. Unable to find them, or finding they have all died, John Rambo is at his breaking point when he crosses paths with an abusive, highly prejudiced sheriff, played perfectly by Brian Dennehy. Stallone does some real acting here and the action is, at times, over the top, but mostly it doesn't take away from the story. It does get a bit sillier in the third act, and Stallone's monologue at the end is legendary for being almost impossible to understand. However, where Rambo, First Blood Part II requires that you turn off your brain and enjoy the mind-numbing violence. First Blood actually has a decent story, characters and some acting, even from Stallone. A decent early 80's actioner and easily the best of the series, although die-hard Rambo fans will probably argue that Part II is better. The violence in part II is thrilling, at times, and there are some memorable, iconic scenes (the leeches while soaking in pig feces, the Russian interrogation scene). But this is the better movie.
