Daryl K (ca) wrote: Probably the greatest martial arts tournament-type film ever made this side of 'Enter the Dragon', with no end of creative gimmicks and fight sequences. Jimmy Wang Yu plays a particularly sadistic one-armed boxer, who massacres pretty much every threat posed to him by a blind Master seeking revenge for the murder of his two disciples. Any flick with a flying guillotine in it at all is worth three stars from me, so it's a bonus that this one also packs in a lot of weird, brutal fun.

Stanley K (ca) wrote: Enjoyable enough, with an agreeably offbeat lead performance from Robery Downey Jr., and an unusually engaging performance from Gwyneth Paltrow (before she's made to cower and whimper, as women in action movies are wont to do...but that's a different story). Pity the latter half of the movie amounts to typical nonsensical action movie plotting, and requires the usually skilful Jeff Bridges to SCREAM HIS LINES to show how bad (in both senses of the word) a villain he is.

Lauren G (us) wrote: sorry, but the only highlight of this movie for me was seeing ben Affleck's lovely, bare ass.
