(ag) wrote: When I heard this movie received a number of negative reviews, I knew I had to see it for myself. Just a couple weeks ago I watched it and immediately voted it, personally, my LEAST favorite movie of all time. One reason why I was upset about how bad this movie was is that National Lampoon is the maker of "Animal House", which is the MASTERPIECE of comedies! A few reasons why I hated it are because it wasn't funny in the least bit; the gross-out scenes, I thought, were a little bit TOO gross; I thought it was too short for a full-length film; finally, I don't know why, but I felt really depressed watching it. And it's a COMEDY! Comedies should make you laugh and make you feel good, but this movie was just a sad, sad attempt at a comedy film. The worst part of it is the title of the film has the two words "National Lampoon", the words that can be found in films such as "Animal House" and "Vacation". It's a disgrace.

I feel so bad for Jesse because I genuinely believe that he got caught in the wave of hysteria that was in the United States at the time. I hope the charges against him get dropped and he's able to live the rest of his life as a guilt free man. The documentary gripped me and didn't let go until the very end. I'm usually not that into documentaries, but I highly recommend this one.
(ca) wrote: The movie gives us an introduction into each key character by our narrator Alan Ford; these stereotypical Cockney introductions are great and entertaining, giving us a teaser of each character. The movie is based around the journey of four close friends (Jason Flemyng, Dexter Fletcher, Nick Moran & Jason Statham) and their run in with an east end gangster Hatchet Harry (P.H. Moriarty) after a card game goes sour. This movie is hilarious (I mean the script is amazing) the Cockney slang (there is a scene in subtitles for the less Cockney fluent) and the typical British banter throughout the movie makes these characters relatable (yes I can quote majority of the movie). I feel as though I need to mention one of my favourite characters of the movie Rory Breaker (Vas Blackwood) "The mad man with an afro" and his scenes with Nick the Greek (Stephen Marcus) are hysterical.Back to the foursome who are desperate to find a solution for their seemingly impossible situation the lads are forced to deal with some unsavoury types (more gangsters and crooks) as they come with an idea that could save them from losing their fingers. This then acts as a platform for movie to merge each subplot together to form a delicious cocktail of guns, gore, gangsters and a lot of weed. For anybody watching this that isn't familiar with England, yes it really is that gloomy and wet (not an editing mistake). This movie does have an epic soundtrack (at the start when Ocean Colour Scene comes in really sets the tone of the movie) the tracks are carefully placed throughout the movie (just wait for the Zorba the Greek scene, it's a brutal ballet).Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is one of my favourite movies of all time and has everything you'd want from a British gangster movie. With running time of 107 minutes this movie somehow manages to tie everything up nicely within this time, nothing is rushed or longed out. If you haven't realised by now but this movie is for 18's and over (as you'd expect from any decent gangster movie).Brit Classic

(gb) wrote: Great 1990 action pack movie! This movie reminds me of "Silent Rage" starring Chuck Norris. Patrick Kilpatrick was no joke as Sandman. Jean-Claude Van Damme never let me down when it comes to his fighting style. Robert Guillaume(from the show Benson) was great too!
(jp) wrote: Unlike others in the series this one deliberately laughs at itself and adds fantasy film 'in jokes'... and the jokes are funny! The lead has enough comic timing and charisma to carry it off, the villain(s) "chews the scenary" with relish and the eye candy is very pleasant.I would still advise you to watch the first movie in the series before it though... not for the film but because it just makes it funnier when you see them re-use clips from the first one in this one to save money!Make sure you don't miss the out-takes during the credit, oh, and the theme music is ridiculously catchy and can be 'sung' along to very loudly when watching with friends and beers!
(gb) wrote: Drive hard. Former race car driver Peter Roberts (jane) gave up his dream job to have a normal everyday safe life and became a driving instructor. All appears well until one person shows for a driving lesson, Simon Keller (cusack). Keller uses Roberts as a getaway driver after he holds up a property for a $9 million heist. They both have to go on the run for corupt cops and a set of mobsters who are desperate for their money back. Roberts has to use his driving skills to avoid them being captured. All in all another everyday bank heist getaway driver movie, nothing new to watch and quite dire not even Cusack can remedy this one. Writing is poor and Jane wasnt into his role at all, stay clear.
(kr) wrote: An action-packed spy thriller with full of humor. Didn't like the part of putting environmentalist in bad light but its a not new thing in Hollywood. Every scene is well done and the audience would not get bored watching this. New style fight scene shooting technique is pretty amazing to watch. This movie is mixture of multiple spy movies especially reminds of James Bond in comical way.
