Cait S (ru) wrote: "Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You" captures how being an introverted teenager feels TO the teenager. Much of the conflict lies in the internal battle the protagonist has with himself, though the dysfunction in the world around him (i.e. his crazy family) amplifies his feelings of not belonging. The lead, Toby Regbo, displays phenomenal prowess in his portrayal of the confused James, who seems to be drowning in the struggles of being 17.That being said, one needs to enter the film in an independent / art film frame of mind. Though focusing on a high school protagonist, this isn't "Superbad" or "Mean Girls" where the concrete goals are getting the girl/guy or throwing the best party of their high school lives. "Someday" is more subtle, an emotional look at how one teenager's isolation truly feels like the end of the world to him. And who hasn't felt that at one point?

Ben Foster starred as Coporal Bower who must try to save the spaceship from destroying itself when it is all there is left for the humanity, unfortunately something more sinister is lurking within the ship and he must fight for the survival or human race. I really liked the premise, it's a Lovecraftian tale of the unknown in the outerspace, but with a twist on the capacity of the human race to survive and the debate on population control. I think the message wasn't well recieved as I was viewing this film but after thinking about the message I realised how clever the writing is. The problem with the film were the unrealistic setting and slow pacing, otherwise this German-American production had a lot of potential.

Matt B (nl) wrote: Rendition is an excellent idea executed badly. The story says so much about how the concept of what it means to be an American has been deeply challenged during the war. By the end, the movie feels too shallow and bland, not to mention Jake Gyllenhaal is super super miscast.

James Z (us) wrote: ford is still reliably conscientious as jack ryan, patriotic but not wantonly jingoistic like the script. the plot and dialogue aim high, almost akin to bond, but it's closer to apathetic and ambiguous.
Danusia B (gb) wrote: Fun movie. Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon are fun to watch. They could of gotten a better looking model though, Gisele Bunchen's face is not attractive and her acting isn't good and her lack of sex appeal is especially apparent in the one scene where she screams "die" while shooting a gun. I mean, it's funny but I don't think that's what they were going for.

Ilja S (gb) wrote: The Search for Spock is definately not a bad movie, and in all ways superior to the first movie, but watching it right after 'The Warth of Khan', it feels like a real letdown. Yes, it has some good ideas and brings you lots of nostalgia, but if fails to deliver an overall entertaining movie. Still, you gotta give Nemoy some credit for making the move in this very direction. Sadly he totally failed with the following installment.

Ross M (us) wrote: With all the elements Wes Craven tried to jam into the film, "Shocker" it should have been a dud. Instead, Craven cranks the performances and ridiculousness to Looney Toon levels and creates the perfect guilty pleasure "B" movie. This movie is overstuffed, over the top, and too much fun to hate. 4 stars
