Two teachers, man-hungry Doris and restrained Marian, visit the Yorkshire moors a year after friend Evelyn disappeared there. On a stormy night, they take refuge in the isolated cottage of Stephen, one-time pianist shell-shocked in the Spanish Civil War. Doris flees as soon as the flood subsides; but Marian's suspicions about Evelyn's fate, in conflict with her growing love for Stephen, prompt her to stay on among the misty bogs.

Richard D (jp) wrote: Stuart Gordon directed this for television, but had no hand in writing it. I would say that it shows. This has some things going for it ... it's kind of nice to see Mia Sara get a role bigger than her largely thankless role in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and Perkins is always a welcome addition. Still, I think the plot and dialogue are pretty terrible. It's interesting to see a young Jack Coleman so many years before "Heroes" ... there's that too I guess.

Nice early use of some match fades. I'd rather have seen this in a theatre with a live pianist; the soundtrack Warners provided worked reasonably well, although the added applause, laughter, and lion roar (not giving too much away, I hope) sound effects got a little distracting.
