Adam R (kr) wrote: A lame DCOM that rips off Weird Science and Pixel Perfect. It's just another embarrassment for the Disney Channel. (First and only viewing - 1/24/2015)

Linnea R (de) wrote: A delightfully quirky blend of opera, rock, horror, and dystopian science fiction. Excellent cast and wonderful soundtrack.

Douglas D (jp) wrote: A dark, slow, humorless movie that worked for me nonetheless. Might have scored it higher, but the ending was clumsy and did not answer the main question that hovers throughout the film.

Multitron R (ag) wrote: This movie brings talent from across unlikely places, such as Heath Ledger, that you wouldn't expect to be Academy Award-like performances.

Ed P (br) wrote: This movie had a plot. The interaction of the protagonists was enjoyable. The dialogue sparkled. It should have received some oscars. I bought a copy. It is a movie I want to watch again.

Trevor L (it) wrote: A very charming romantic comedy. However, the trailer makes it look as if the letter would be spread through more hands than just helen (Capshaw) and Janet (DeGeneres). It's a very charming tale, about a mysterious letter that changes the lives of people in the small town of Loblolly by the sea, including a college student, a fireman, and a librarian. Plus, I love the soft, enchanting musical score for the movie, setting the tone perfectly.

Jasen L (br) wrote: So many of Spike Lee's movies really speak to me despite his experimental musings. For me Crooklyn is personal and nostalgic. So much of this movie reminds me of my youth even tho the dynamics of the family and neighbourhood are relatively dis-similar to my own growing up. Spike creates a mood and recreates scenerios synonymous with urban childhood in the 70's and early 80's. I always call my cousins after watching it. Great feel good soundtrack.

Ben G (ca) wrote: A film with some of the most stunning cinematography ever. Some of the scenes here will haunt your for the rest of your life... the use of black and white is impeccable...However... the story is threadbare, obviously to place more emphasis on the camera work and mood but in some cases it makes the film boring...Also another issue I had was the huge amounts of lateral movements by the camera.. at times spellbinding.. other times irritating. I preferred Werckmeister but this has some ingredients that completely out-shined Werckmeister too.

Scott M (mx) wrote: Jack Black? Really? That's who they chose? The CGI is amazing. But the acting was terrible. One of the worst movies ever.

Matt S (jp) wrote: Watch this short film at an appropriate time. That time would be as in between meals as you can get. Every meat eater should watch this. It's a lot easier to eat a steak or a lamb chop than it is to see where it comes from and the way it got to your plate.

Alex M (nl) wrote: For being from the early 30s this movie was very well acted. The relationship between Gable and Lombard was fantastic. I can only imagine the actual chemistry between these two on the set of this film. You can really see how much the two enjoy each other as it is the only film with the two of them together.
