I urge everyone to go see this film if you are in for a non-stop hilarious thrill reminiscent of THE ROOM. Seriously...This movie was Krazy bad!

(ru) wrote: The Scarlet Claw is one of the best of the Rathbone/Bruce films as its excellently atmospheric with an intresestingly macabre and goulishly memorable story (although has no basis in any of Arthur Conan Doyles stories) Nigel Bruces' bumbling Watson (who for me makes these films) is also on top form in this one. I'd reccomened this to any one interested in the Sherlock Holmes although purists please note thiat it isn't an Arthur Conan Doyle story. I'd also reccommed this if you like film noir or B&W 1930's/40's Universal Horror movies.

(it) wrote: Harold Lloyd is ideally cast as a bumbling aspiring movie star. Probably his best talking picture, his physical form of comedy works quite well, but it?s not as funny as his silent films for some reason. It has a good story and Constance Cummings is very effective as his love interest. Fun and entertaining.
(nl) wrote: This film had potential from the trailer like most films. The special effects are good but you are not wowed by them. Compared to the first film it looks like it was cheaply made but they gave it a try with their budget. The story is just a bit pants.
