The Paw Project
This is a David and Goliath story of one veterinarian's battle to protect her patients (tigers, lions and even house cats) from big corporations, with their big corporate money, that will shamelessly do anything to animals to increase their bottom line. She starts a grassroots movement that is fueled by passion, but appears to be losing the battle. Then, unexpectedly, she realizes that the corporations accidentally left her a giant loophole. In a scramble to take advantage of this unforeseen gift, she leads the crusade passing legislation protecting animals from de-clawing in seven cities in just six weeks.

(nl) wrote: this movie is so uncharacteristically fnny for a period piece ... it is very engaging as is the lead, and takes love and gender on an unexpected course
(kr) wrote: Starting at the end and working back to the beginning, the audience experiences their own form of short-term memory loss with each scene revealing what Leonard has already forgotten. A backwards journey into the unknown of Lenny's "condition".

(fr) wrote: I'll be honest...I started watching this, wasn't really feeling it, checked on here to see what the reviews were saying and they were so bad I couldn't be bothered persisting with it. So it might actually get really good but I didn't get very far.

(br) wrote: I wish I could flick a bullet through someone's BRAINZ. This film was so much fun. I thought the story was good since it did hint at some very interesting themes, and for a martial arts film I think it's one of the better stories I've seen in the genre. Though personally I found the characters to be really silly, so it was hard to take any of the concepts seriously in the context of the narrative. But the fight scenes were amazing, and the cinematography never failed to capture the epic choreography. It felt like I was watching Jet Li in his prime. CHINESE DON'T WEAR NO SUIT, BITCH.
(it) wrote: Gritty jungle action with 4 mercenaries trying to screw one another out of a million dollars, it's a fun sleazy ride from start to finish. Not great film making, but an amiable time waster.Rental?
(ca) wrote: The all time classic exceeded my expectations. Nicholson was incredible as well as the immense cast behind him. Great direction is what ultimately fuels the success of the film, the cramped and sometimes uncomfortable feel of the ward is fully fleshed out, and that why I agree with Rodger Ebert saying that boat scene just doesn't work as well. Not that it's bad, it just feels tonally jarring in comparison to every other scene. Everything else about the film is excellent though, and the conflict between Nurse Ratchet and Mac is the best thing about the film. The ending is as shocking and sad as it is thought provoking, and I couldn't be happier that I saw this one
