Emily T (us) wrote: I watched this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great chemistry between Grant and Bullock. People who are put off by George's seeming indecisiveness and passivity don't get that it is partially an act--a persona, just like his dry sense of humor; he really enjoys being around Lucy (depending on her) because he's fallen in love with her. George feigns helplessness to draw Lucy closer to him. He's too witty and clever a character to be that bad off. . . George wrote "the perfect speech" on his own, after all. Forget the critics, watch the movie. Critics never like romantic comedies anyway.

Will A (nl) wrote: It is what you expect from Shane Meadows. Unfortunatley it has taken me a while to get round to seing this. I agree with the last review, it is Paddy Considine that makes this film what it is.

Vikram T (es) wrote: madhuri was just awesome. first film that doesnt have double role where rakesh has made the film. good music too.

Warren S (nl) wrote: Went to see this in the Aaben in Hulme - we had to find a seat that was not ripped out (well it was 1988 and Hulme was full of smack heads) anyway we dodged the needles and had a jolly time. Predicatable but great for a fellow gay teenager (at the time!!)

Sean A (ca) wrote: This was a good movie. It's genre is irrelevant, it holds is own as a movie.

David K (de) wrote: I was fully engaged in the film until I noticed that a good portion of it is not raw, untampered footage as shot in the wild. For example, the lioness fight where Silver Eye lost her eye, was computer graphics. This particular fight scene, I've seen in other documentaries, like on Animal Planet. I'm not criticizing this too negatively because it's hard to get an animal to do as a script says unlike human actors so it makes sense that they'd have to alter it somehow in order to get it to make it presentable by making it conform to a format with a particular emotional progression form that's formulaic of this genre. Eitherway, the movie is good and well worth watching and the message is definitely one of many that humanity needs to set aside their own greed and act on in order to ensure that we can still inhabit this planet for at least a good portion of the 500 million years left before this planet's expiration date.
