Other than that, it's a predictable romantic comedy. The only interesting dance number is the one with Jerry the Mouse of Tom & Jerry cartoons

There was a nice story in there somewhere but it was carried out poorly. This should have been a TV movie, filled with melodramatic music and also heavyhanded character and plot development

solid concept solid execution. But Check it out if you are a fan of well made documentaries. But cinematic value, it hurt it. But in terms of information, it needed to be that length. Really nothing wrong with it, except maybe it was too long. It was interesting and I learned a lot of about the AIDS coalitions of the early 90s/late 80s. Very well edited. They had a lot of great footage to work with. Well made. Decent little documentary

Solid all around. A truely excellent prison film

His attempted suicide brings everying to a boil. The younger son, engaged to the "perfect" girl is trying his best not to be gay, but can't keep his past, or his true feelings hidden. The daughter, not wanting to have a child who would have to grow up in such a demanding environment, as been keeping a secret from her husband. The elder son drinks to block out his parents' criticisms of him. Expectations placed by parents who demand perfection are forcing the 3 children into destructive decisions. In an upscale suburban home, the "perfect" family is falling apart

Big difference is it launched Mel Gibson's career and tanked you Kevin Costner's for years. Loner in a wasteland (one desert one ocean) fighting for oil/gas and the enemy dresses like bikers. I originally liked this movie better having seen it a bit younger but having recently seeing mad max 2 I see it more as a rip off of that movie

It sort of feels like Gondry is so focused on getting past the stereotyping that it ends up working in opposition to that core goal. But something about it never fully comes together. Sometimes funny, sometimes a bit sad and aching to give voice to young adults who are often denied the opportunity. It has its share of moments. A group of teenagers who "workshopped" the idea of playing variations of themselves on a bus ride on the last day of school thru the Bronx. Michel Gondry's film offers an interesting idea
