(de) wrote: I was expecting "Emma," considering the makers kept going on about how "Aisha" is based on "Emma." What I wasn't expecting was "Clueless." A whole lot of it - almost 40% of the scenes, to be exact. I wasn't pleased. The first half was mediocre, due to the severe rehash of scenes. However, the second half got better and I honestly enjoyed the casting. Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol had great chemistry. The supporting cast was great as well, the best of the lot being Amrita Puri - who was SO adorable as Shefali. Songs were great, namely "Gal Mitti Mitti Bol."Not a fabulous movie, but a nice entertainer. I wish it had been a little (OK a LOT) more original though. That was a downer. I don't mind being inspired by books, but I do mind being inspired by other movies.

(gb) wrote: I didn't like this movie. The alcoholic Geoffry Firmin is right there, in your face, the entire movie. I felt like I was getting way too much of him. I didn't find him an appealing character, and I can't figure out what Yvonne sees in him. I would have liked this movie better if it kept more distance from Firmin, instead of having him right there, in your face, the entire movie.
(fr) wrote: I do like old Disney movies. Even if they are corny at times. I believe this was Jodie Foster'a first movie. And the dresses she wears in it are awfully short for a 10 year old. But still a good movie.
(ag) wrote: A truly imaginative and original cartoon film that went overshadowed, lost in a world of increasing CGI animation as one of the last big budget films of its animation style at the time.
(gb) wrote: Slow, with nothing knew from the first film or any slasher flick for that matter. Same bland characters, same old twists, and an eyesore of a setting. Utterly pointless, but at least the final climax was decent.
(mx) wrote: I wish there was a "Might See It" button cuz thats what this would be. I don't see this being as good as a Happy Feet or even an Over the Hedge because it basically has a B level cast. Prediction: 3

(ca) wrote: Based on an Anne Rice novel, The Young Messiah is an apocryphal story about Jesus Christ as a child. Set after the death of King Herod the Great, Joseph and Mary decide to end their exile in Egypt and move back to Nazareth while also grappling with what to tell Jesus as he starts questioning who he is and his abilities. Most of the film seems inspired by non-canonical Christian scriptures, which present some interesting questions but don't have a lot to say spiritually. Nevertheless, it's an interesting story and the production values are really good. Also, the use of fresh unknown actors helps with the authentic period feel. The Young Messiah isn't bad film really, but it undercuts its relevance by going outside of traditional Christian mythology.
