(au) wrote: An amazing performance by James Franco, and the movie is good, but it struggles, as the whole movie has took place in one area, and gets tiresome, and boring very quickly.
(us) wrote: Black, totally, politically incorrect comedy which although very funny in parts, didn??t always quite work for me. When a small factory in Picardy is closed down the female workers vote on how to spend their pooled redundancy money. Options, including a nude calendar, are voted down, but when the semi-literate Louise suggests that they hire a hitman to ??whack the boss?? ?? the women agree nem con. The hitman is the incompetent Michel (who used to be Cathy) who first uses his cousin Jennifer who is terminally ill with cancer and then another dying patient to attempt to kill the elusive boss (who is the boss anyway?). The guy Jennifer shoots (before shooting herself) isn??t really the right person and the next terminal patient misses twice before being run over by a bus. This is followed by a bloodbath in Jersey, arrest and imprisonment. Other bits which seemed bizarre included the guy who was crashing model airliners into model twin towers ?? WTF? But movies like this really need to be made, just to keep pushing at the boundaries. I get bored with seeing stuff that stays miles away from the. Oh and you might need to know that there was a real life anarchist called Louise Michel a century ago - or, in fact, you might not.

(au) wrote: Different, I got to give it that. It's creepy but I feel that Bollywood really need to tighten up their editing and their effects otherwise a good story can turn out to look like muck. It's got average performances from the quartet, including an over-the-top screeching Lara Dutta. John is the most memorable from the younger characters. On the other hand, Ajay Devgan is cool. He drives this film forwards to the above average level and saves this from turning into a complete piece of dung.

(au) wrote: I think it's difficult to judge a movie made in a completely different era (read Roger Ebert review on this movie about this aspect) . What i felt watching it is that there are three movies here: Tom Robinson's story, Boo and the children's one and the lone father/liberal white lawyer Atticus' one. The three elements of the story don't work perfectly together, i think, and each of them could be analyzed in a deeper way. We perceive the difficulties that Atticus is facing growing the children without his wife, but the movie just hints to that, for example. But perhaps if had watched it in 1962 i would have had a totally different impression of it and, given the time, it was a courageous movie. Anyway, it's worth watching it just for Gregory Peck's amazing, Oscar winning performance! What an actor!

(gb) wrote: the entire cast and crew is better than that. Moore farting on the toilet. Oscar worthy
