(gb) wrote: Seems the part that made the movie seem like it was worth seeing was in the ad and in the first 5 minutes of the movie.. Another movie not worth the time or money
(us) wrote: It may not be very good, but it still has more emotion and better visuals than the first film, which is enough to earn three stars from me.
(us) wrote: Very disapointing. Too long, too ambitious for its own good, disapointing performance from most of the cast (Shu Qi will be playing this kind of character until she's 60??). At least, there are some very nice shots of HK.
(au) wrote: Uncomfortably tense. Insane to think that this was something that actually happened... still, it makes you think: if something this horrific happened under the last arrogant, antagonistic and moronic Republican president, imagine how much worse the next event under the next one might be, considering the present option ranks higher on all counts.
(de) wrote: even though it's not by the same director it's still pretty bad.
(fr) wrote: It's cleverly written by Woody Allen, but the best part of this movie, by far, is Will Ferrell.

(es) wrote: You will enjoy this movie if you really into drama. One might confuse of why this movie categorize as mystery at first from reading the plot of Karakter. The plot has said it all, young lawyer, mute mother, ruthless father, both tormenting the protagonist all his life, but the young lawyer turn out to be successful. This is one of the best drama that based on ordinary circumstances, but the way it presented makes it an interesting story. The truth is I have known what was happening in the film, because coincidently it's similar to my personal situation. Nevertheless, the movie still captivated me until the end. Now where is the mystery in this film? You will know later that the mystery is the two characters. His father and his mother. They both will makes the film interesting until it finish. This is the type of mystery, where you know who are the mystery, but the mystery itself is inside them. Thus, this is why the film is an excellent drama. If you to watch movie that both entertaining and have impact to your real life, then this is for you. This is a movie that can relate to your life. It will bring out only the positive of you.
(ag) wrote: Quirky comedy that suggests that most health fads are based, at root, on a desire for more sex, and further that most "professionals" in that game are willingly consenting. Except for the leader, here played with anal retentive glee by Anthony Hopkins, buck toothed, insistent on colonics for everyone, and strangely matched against Dana Carvey as his unhappy, rebellious, recaltrant adopted son. The star though is hapless Matthew Broderick as the outsider with whom we are introduced to the misguided cult and its adherents. John Cusack is in here too, though I'm unclear as to just why. It's kinda fun, but no more.
(br) wrote: Romero's take on "The Facts in the Case of Mrs. Valdemar" , felt far too long for a fifty-five minute film. The acting was sub-par, and the plot really was hard to stay interested in. I give it two out of five stars."The Black Cat" was the least of my favorite films I've seen so far from Argento, though it had it's usual high and lows. Definitely enjoyed the frenzy and chaos of Harvey Keitel (who can do no wrong in my eyes), but it was far less expressionistic than I had hoped for, coming from Argento's mind. I rated it a three out of five.
(kr) wrote: I vaguely remember seeing scenes from this movie when I was a kid, and I remember having the impression that it was quite good, and when I watched it in its entirety last night, I was not disappointed. This sardonic, dark comedy is also a taut thriller. It is engaging, surprising, and highly entertaining with sharp, brilliant performances from Michael Caine and Christopher Reeve.
(ca) wrote: Clifton Webb and Ruth Hussey work well together and make an endearing couple. Debra Paget is incredibly beautiful, Robert Wagner extremely handsome but the story is pure hollywood pap. However the music is rousing and wonderful and the production levels high. A most enjoyable entertainment.
(nl) wrote: Pretty good film this one especially for a musical. Could have done without the Broadway scene. Now I see the inspiration behind the Artist too.
(ca) wrote: The best of their service themed comedies, plenty of great moments and gags it just lags a bit in spots. The drill routine is fantastic and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy is too much fun.

Goyer's script might only focus on concept (a common theme to this day as of 2016), del Toro shows through his tremendous ability to give it life and substance through his action chroeography and costume, creature, and set design, something he influences and entrusts his other fellow designers and artists.
