(ca) wrote: This film is rather odd and could be worse then Twilight. Sarah Farooqui plays an artist who turns to a rare drug(tree bark) to find inspiration but soons become eveloped into a dark realm where she is met by an incubus. The films story is plain wierd. Get stoned and then meet vampires in a dream world? Seriously, no creativety what so ever. Its a low budget film that succeeds in having solid actors and decent CGI but the vampire actions are rather clumsy. Its not as horrible as twilight but thats not saying much. It doesnt get interesting at all and tends to slow itself down with each dream. Its not creative, lacks any real action, and the only reason to watch this is the numerous sex scenes between the incubus and Sarahs character.

Jackson it is about an urban succubus. It strikes a balance of fright and comedy it is another horror story that deals with gender issues.

It's a realistic tale about the decisions that we make, the way the shape our lives, and about the actions that we must do, even though they don't always agree with our beliefs. Through the story of Maciek, a young partizan on a mission to kill a high-ranked communist, Wajda wanted to announce that sometimes killing evil, powerful people might not be the way to succeed. Maciek has to follow orders, but after one horrible accident two innocent people die, and he suddenly starts to change his mind. Moreover, after a brief affair with a pretty bartender girl Krystyna, he seems to hesitate even more. Maciek is under a huge pressure from his superiors, and even though his emotions guide him in another direction, he finally decides to pull the trigger and end the whole farce.Stupendously patriotic and hearth-warming, Ashes and Diamonds marks Cybulski's most memorable performance. His i-don't-care way of acting and alluring bravura, compared to those of James Dean, show an actor who isn't afraid to make a statement about his skills.
(kr) wrote: OK-ish, but not great. Plot drifts, and the movie is overly long. Some decent editing and this could have been an hour shorter and much more coherent.Despite starring greats Gary Cooper and Ingrid Bergman (whose previous film was Casablanca), the performances are unconvincing. Cooper and Bergman don't seem to gel well. The supporting cast are woeful.I haven't read the book, but I am sure it is better than the movie.

(au) wrote: 'Gone Baby Gone' is a powerful, thought-provoking thriller that entertains, yet leaves the viewer will something to genuinely ponder. Toying with the true meaning of right, the film revolves around a missing girl. Much of the story plays out as you would expect, as one of the Afflecks assists in tracking down the culprit. Exciting action sequences inject pace inbetween tense scenes between key culprits. The conclusion however begins to pose difficult questions not only for our lead to answer, but the audience also. I thoroughly enjoyed this book to film adaptation, and its certainly one I continue to discuss and recommend.
