Mickinee B (au) wrote: While the acting and production is rough, it's a somewhat accurate picture of how administration can handle issue in predominately white universities and colleges. While some may say the dialog is ridiculous, as a POC at a predominately white university in Vermont, much of the dialog could have been taken straight out of real life. The issue of race is a messy one and it was intriguing to see a movie reflect more of the reality.

Jayakrishnan R (it) wrote: 82%Saw this on 1/2/16Rather than focusing it's satire of America's foreign policies (like how it's title suggests), the film is too busy trying to riddicule Hollywood styles of excessive violence. However, there are quite a lot of great jokes, most of which are purely sexual. However, you would also have to bear with a lot of bad jokes here and there. It would have been terrific had the film tried a bit more to ridicule the American politics than trying to give too much focus on criticizing Hollywood cliches.

Andrew V (de) wrote: Another kids movie that sadly does not hold up. While some areas are slightly improved, it's just not as interesting as floop's castle in the last movie. By the way, Kahn from Star Trek 2 makes an appearance(you'll know when you see him). Overall, it's still a kids movie so logically they'll be entertained. But sadly, an island of 12 magnetic soldiers that travel with magnets and get stuck to metal just doesn't seem to hold up for me, but that doesn't mean it's not occasionally funny.

Adam R (gb) wrote: A disappointment as I enjoyed the first movie. A bad sequel that is poorly acted and poorly written. Unbelievably long too considering how boring it was. (First and only viewing - In my early twenties)

Phil H (de) wrote: Tim 'king of the sci-fi B-movie' Thomerson is again in yet another time travelling sci-fi flick and again he's a cop with a really good 'Jack Deth'.Yep another cracker alright, this film makes Pyun's films look like mega budget affairs with top class acting. There really isn't much I can be positive about here, its not even enjoyable as a daft B-movie like 'Dollman'. Terrible effects with dreadful acting and some almost Ed Wood style moments of corn and the plot is surreal and incomprehensible at times. Look out for Helen Hunt and Thomerson with dark hair! amazingly Thomerson acted in another four more of these with Helen Hunt.On the plus side the electro synth musical score is really good and quite haunting. It really adds a touch of emotion to the film even though there is no emotion to be had because its so low budget and cheesy. Love the films poster art too.

Jeff B (es) wrote: This is only the third film of Pier Paolo Pasolini I've seen but it was excellent. Anna Magnani gives a great performance as the title character who wants to leave her life as a prostitute so she can take care of her teenage son. Great acting, I really loved the performance by the son, Ettore Garofolo. Sure, Magnani was a bit over the top at times (but having seen her in The Rose Tattoo, this isn't even close to that role), but she still give a great perfomance. The ending was very good.

Michael M (es) wrote: Extremely very well done, definatly worth getting your hands on if you can.

Ivan C (es) wrote: Not too much to say here. I respect it for what it began/contributed to, and that's why I watched it. Recommend it if it's easy to get a hold of.

Timothy S (br) wrote: British horror author Clive Barker's wicked imagination has never really transferred all that well to the silver screen, but the original "Hellraiser" fared about the best. Now, we get the inevitable second film in the franchise, subtitled "Hellbound", and the images are still just as twisted but the story is a lot harder to follow this time out.The film is full of disturbing imagery and nightmarish visuals, but precious little cohesion once the original story is set into motion. I'm sure that had something to do with budgetary constraints and original star Andrew Robinson's refusal to appear in the follow-up. It picks up just a few hours after the conclusion of its predecessor, and the story starts strong with star Ashley Laurence being hospitalized and under the care of a doctor who just happens to worship the demons of the first film and wants to revive them.Things get a little murky after that, however, and the plot just collapses. For a film of such meager means, the horrific special effects are quite convincing and it becomes one long nightmare that makes little sense but nevertheless manages to disturb and unnerve you. It actually fits in nicely with the original movie, and I'm sorely disappointed that I didn't like it more than I did. I think had it focused on the Kenneth Cranham character's obsession with the Cenobites and eventual transformation into one, the film would have been a lot more successful. Instead, "Hellraiser 2" heads off on several tangents and loses whatever focus it had in the beginning. Unfortunately, it never recovers and we're left with one more sequel that fails to live up to the original.
